About Mr. Amir Hossain & his family

Mr. Amir Hossain the owner of Kamrun Nahar Bedding & Parda is a
well known businessman of his area. He is an inhabitant of
Tongi,Gazipur. His age is 30 now. He has one sister, two younger
brothers and his father and mother in his family. He belongs to a poor
family. He did not get any higher education. His father was a retired
person and his mother was a housewife. So he took the decision to find
an earning source for bearing the cost of his family.

The background of being an


entrepreneur & starting his business
It was 2010 when he thinks about starting a business of his own. When
his family was facing a critical financial situation. The idea and planning
of starting a sole proprietorship business was his own. But he was not
experienced. So he was confused about what business should he start.
He talked with his friends, family, relatives and gets many suggestions.
From many options he chooses the best one by his knowledge. He wants
to start a small shop of Bedding Tongi College gate area. But he didn’t
have much money to start his business. So he thought about taking
loans. He got much support from his family and relatives. All the initial
steps were taken by him.

How he collected his capital & what is


his current financial status
As Mr. Amir Hossain was belongs to a poor family the collection of
capital became a big challenge for him. They have neither income
resources nor much savings to start his business. Then he decided to take
loans. He collected his capital from his relative. His initial capital was
300000 which were totally loaned. With this capital he rent a shop,
decorated that shop, bought all his necessary commodities and manages
workers. Day by day his business was getting profitable. Every month he
had some profit in his hand after all his costs. He started save some
money from his profit every month. By doing this he was able to
clearing-off all his loans. It took almost 2.5-3 years to return all the loans
he had taken. His current capital is 2500000 tk. At present every month
25 to 30 thousand taka remains as profit after giving all his cost.

The management functions of his


business

Mr. Amir Hossain manages all his business works very tactfully. He has
four workers with him. He divided all his worksuomers but in his
absence one servant takes thus responsibility. Usually he behaves well
with his servants but sometimes he is very strict when it's needed.
ðThe daily activities of his business
Everyday he opens his shop around 10 o'clock. He sells his products to
his customers till 2pm and then he closes his shop for taking launch
break. After that he opens the shop at the afternoon around 5pm. He sells
bed sheet, curtain, mattress, pillow, sofa pillow and cover etc. Mainly at
the evening his shop is much crowded. Many customers come to his
shop in this time and most of his customers are female. At 10pm he
closes all his works and shut down the shop.
ðHow he treat with his customers and servant
As my observation it can be said that Mr. Amir Hossain behaves pretty
much well with his customers and servants. He never be furious with his
customers. He always tries to give the best service to the customers and
satisfied them as well. He always wants to keep a good relationship with
his customers. His servants are also satisfied with his behaviour. He
always clear their payment timely and occasionally give bonus to
encourage them in their work.
ðHow he takes his competitors & which steps make him more profitable
He always keep the information of his competitors in his area, the
investment and the profit they get. He thinks that he is in well position
by his competitors. Asking the reason behind this he said that he
provides best service to the customers and he is very much experienced
in his area and also he has a goodwill. This make his business more
profitable.
ðWhat is his opinion about his business? Is he satisfied?
He is pretty much satisfied with his business. Every month after giving
all his costs he has 25000/30000 taka profit in his hand that he can save
for his future. He can bear the costs of his family now and they can lead
a happy life. So he has no complain with what he has now.
ðHis thought about become a successful businessman
For becoming a successful businessman his 1st priority is setting a goal.
Then continue his work through the right way. The management system
is also playing an important role. If anybody wants to get much profit he
must has to take more risk. Profit and loss is a part of business but to
make profit he have to take risk. And he things that good behaviour,
honesty, ability to leading is a must for a successful businessman.
ðHis motive towards the future of his business
Mr. Amir Hossain wants to make his business bigger in future by his
own capital. He have a plan add some new products to his shop and rent
a new store and increase his investment. He believes that he can provide
the best service to the customers and he will be the leading businessman
of his area comparison to others that do the same business.
