A Detailed Lesson Plan in Physics V

Prepared by Joy Suan

May 25, 2020
I. Objectives:
At the end of 60-minute period, the grade five pupils should be able to;
A. describe magnetic fields and magnetic field lines
B. draw magnetic field lines
C. familiarize in terms of drawing the magnetic field lines and arrows along
two poles which are usually allocated as north and south

II. Subject Matter:

A. Topic: Magnetic Field
B. References: Physics (Rex Bookstore Inc., Manila Philippines, 2003)
C. Skills Integration: Drawing
D. Materials: Horse Shoe, Bar Magnet, Iron Fillings, Pencil, Coupon Bond,
Marker, Manila paper
E. Values Integration: Cooperation

III. Procedure:

Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity

A. Preliminary Activities

a. Routinely Activities

1. Prayer (Pupils pray for the opening prayer.)

(The teacher will call a pupil to lead
the prayer).

2. Greetings
Good morning class! Good morning Ms. Joy!
How are you today?
We’re fine!
3. Prepare the classroom
Before you take your seats, kindly pick up
pieces of papers around your chairs and throw it (Pupils pick up pieces of paper around their

chairs.
4. Check the attendance of the
students
Okay, take your seats. James, who is absent?
James: Ma’am, there is no absent today”.
That’s good you’ve got a perfect attendance

b. Motivation
I’ve prepared symbols and words under
your chair… then you will paste it and present
it on the board. Understood class?
Pupils: Yes, Ma’am.

Word(s) and symbol(s):

(+), (-) attracts, (-), (-), attracts, (+), (-), and
repel (The pupils will perform their tasks.)

Answer:
“opposite sign (charges) attract and same sign
(charges) repel”.

Very Good, class!

That activity is connected to our topic for today,

you will further understand as we go along
within, but before we proceed, let us first read
our lesson objectives for us to be guided. Kindly
read it class. (Pupils read the lesson objectives)

B. Developmental Activities
a. Presentation of topic
Today, we are going to study about
Magnetic Field.

(The teacher will show a short video

Presentation about the lesson) It is about the Magnetic Field.

Rey: Magnetic fields are produced by electric

currents, which can be macroscopic in wires

questions to the pupils.
Jessa: A region of space near the magnet,

about? which a magnetic force acts on any other
magnet, electric current, or moving charge
2. What Magnetic Field? Anyone? Yes? particles.
Rey

3. What is a magnetic field line? Yes? Pupils: Yes, Ma’am!

Jessa.
(The pupils will count to form two groups)

Very good Jessa! Pupils: 1, 2, 1, 2……

In addition, this field usually centered along two
poles which are usually allocated as north and (the pupils will go to their respective groups)
south. (the pupils start to answer)

Understand class?

Group one will site their observation.

C. Post Activities
a. Application
The pupils will be given an activity which is Group two will site their observation.
related to the topic and will be divided into two
groups. Using the following materials: horse
shoe magnet, bar magnet, iron fillings and
coupon bond. You will be given 15 minutes to
do the task.

(King raise his hand)

King: Magnetic fields were force in such way

that iron filings will point in the direction of
the field. This field is usually centered along
Ok group one… please cite your observation two poles. “OPPOSITE SIGN (charges)
about our activity. attract and SAME SIGN (charges) repel “

Ok, now let’s hear what group 2 has to say

about out activity

Very well said class!

Let us give ourselves a round of applause…

All your answers and observations are correct.

The lines that you observe created by the

iron fillings and magnet under, is often so called
the MAGNETIC FIELD lines which falls under
the magnetic fields
b. Generalization

The teacher will ask the pupils.

1. Anyone from the class who can

generalize our class discussion with your
own words or explanation?

Yes, King?

Pupils: None Miss.

That’s great it seems you learned a lot

from me. Let us give ourselves a round of
applause.

And get one whole sheet of paper Pupils: Goodbye and Thank You, Ms. Joy.
Goodbye classmates, See you tomorrow!

IV. EVALUATION
Directions: Draw the magnetic lines
and arrows of the following magnet positions.
Put it in a whole sheet of paper.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Directions: Draw the magnetic lines and

arrows of the following magnet positions. Put it
in a short bond paper.

Question regarding the Assignment?

If none, you’re now dismissed. Goodbye class.
