Agency: Seniors’ Resource Center (SRC), located at 3227 Chase Street, Denver, CO 80212, is a 501(c)(3) non-
profit organization, is a 32-year-old community partner providing intensive Transportation, Adult Day & Respite
Services, In-Home Care Services, mental health outreach, Job Training Services, Volunteer opportunities and
Care Management Services to keep seniors independent and at home for as long as possible.
Basic Function: SRC is seeking a film production assistant intern to support a national online video advocacy
campaign. The Elder Voices for Economic Security Advocacy Initiative campaign, developed by the National
Council on Aging (NCoA), will engage older adults to share their personal stories through video in an effort to
achieve significant public policy changes that address key aspects of economic security for low-income seniors.
The student will work with SRC to capture video footage to create at least three videos that are three to five
minutes in length and focused on economic security and older adults. The student will also serve as a resource on
production and creative and technical support.
Requirements/Skills: Production assistant intern will be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university
public relations, journalism, film, marketing, advertising or other related program. Current students will
preferably have at least sophomore standing. The individual should be energetic, enthusiastic, organized and
possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate for this position is able to work in
a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with a high degree of detail.
2. Student will accompany SRC employees to events at which individuals will be filmed for this campaign.
Most of this filming will be conducted in January and February 2011.
3. Student will provide onsite services to include logging/transcription of interviews, beginning in late
December 2010 or early January 2011 and continuing to March 2011.

2. Engage disadvantaged elders in advocacy and policy change. Test strategies and processes for “giving voice” to
minority and marginalized groups and engaging older adults in identifying problems and advocating for specific policy
solutions.
