FEATURES
The Assemtech Micro Tilt Sensor, THS-SP-001, incorporates microprocessor intelligence and electronic circuitry
to enable varying levels of de-bounce and other operating parameters to be configured by the user, via the on
board RS232 interface. The sensor alleviates the need for extra conditioning circuitry on the output of a tilt switch.
The tilt output from a ball switch is monitored in 5ms time period blocks. When the unit detects a tilt closure it will
continue monitoring the closure for the set de-bounce time period. If the tilt closure is still detected after the de-
bounce time period, then a MOSFET switch is turned on. An on board temperature sensor has its own separate
MOSFET output with an alarm temperature set to a customer defined level. The open drain MOSFETs can have
their output inverted if required.
Various software options not only set the de-bounce period and alarm settings but also enable the alarm output
to be inverted and provide an automatic alarm reset after a pre-set delay period.
A “Read” command enables the output status to be sent via the RS232 interface which will return “1” if the alarm
is active or else “0”. This is useful for data logging and computer monitoring systems.
The Micro Tilt Sensor must be mounted horizontally with the monitored tilt to be in the direction of the arrow.
All the pre-set parameters may be re-configured by connecting the unit to a RS232 terminal or to a PC via the 9
way serial connector, and using a terminal emulator program (i.e. Hyper Terminal). Mating RS232 cable:-
RS232C/150 (sold separately).
