Fu n In Th e Gar den !
This week is gardening week so we decided to plant some flowers
and do some tree hunts, flower hunts and mini beast hunts. They
were really fun. When we were doing the mini beast hunt we found
a huge beetle on our trampoline, that's where we found all the
beetles. We found a snail and his shell was a bit broken so we made
him a bed with some leaves.
We have been busy little bees making daisy chains and bracelets too.
It was hard at the start but they are really easy now.
We also planted four flower pots and we water them everyday, they
are getting very big but there?s no sign of flower buds yet. We had
great fun planting and hunting this week! Isabella and Noah Larkin

Ran ge Eggs
Last Friday Daddy began his free range
egg business. Daddy and Niall Morrissy
bought hens and a vending machine
called the ?Eggs Press?for selling the eggs.
It?s a really cool machine and everyone is
loving it! Daddy made the cage for that machine with doors... he did a
really good job. It?s to protect the machine.

There are 28 doors on the machine and behind every door
is a dozen eggs. It is ?4 per dozen.

How it works??
You put in your ?4.... always have change as it doesn?t give
back change. Then you wait.... the next available door with
eggs opens

The hens!!
The hens were kept inside the shed for a while to help them
settle . Now we are letting them out but sometimes it takes
a long time to get them to the field because they always
find their way back up to the yard! It?s a lot of fun and we
are all enjoying it

We had a treehouse from a few years ago but we never really played
that much in it. It was full of
old toys and cobwebs.
Last week my brothers and I
decided to clear it out. We
swept the floor and our
cousin gave us artificial
grass for the floor.
We sprayed furniture polish
on the sides to make them
slippy. We cleaned the
window and wiped the
steering wheel.
Since it was cleaned out we
play a lot of different games
in it. We all have great fun
playing in it now.

Tie dye t-shirt
What you need:

- An old t-shirt
- Bleach
- Water
- Rubber bands
- Spray bottle
M et h od:
1.Pinch bottom corner of t-shirt and pull shirt into a tube shape.
2.Wrap rubber bands around t-shirt about an inch apart.
3.Mix 1 part bleach to 1 part water.
4.Pour bleach solution into a spray bottle and spray on t-shirt.
5.Wait about 15 minutes, wash and dry.

165 g plain flour
¼ teaspoon baking soda
60 g softened butter
60 g light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of water
Chocolate chips (however much u want)

Preheat oven to 180 degrees on fan


1. Line baking tray with baking parchment
2. Sift the flour,baking soda and salt into a bowl
3. In another larger bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg yolk,vanilla and water, and mix.
4. Mix the flour into the batter.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Roll the cookies into little balls.
7. Get a fork and poke them.
8. Bake for 12 minutes.
9. Enjoy!

Larkins baking corner!
Since lockdown began, we have tried to bake something different each week for our Sunday dessert. This week we
had two choices, Isabella's brownies and Eva?s pavlova. We have the recipes below and we hope you enjoy!

Isabella?s brownies
Serves 20
Ingredients:
400g of caster sugar
225g of melted butter
60g cocoa powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 eggs
225g plain flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
60g walnut halves (optional)
METHOD:
1. Mix all ingredients in the order given.
2. Bake at 180 C / Gas mark 4 for 20-25 minutes in
a rectangular 25x33cm greased baking tin.
3. Cool, and slice into equal square portions.

Eva?s Pavalova
Ingredients: To decorate:
3 large egg whites 300ml/1/2pt cream
1 tablespoon Odlums cornflour Fresh fruit
1 teaspoon Chef white vinegar
1 teaspoon goodall?s vanilla essence
4 tablespoons boiling water
350og/12oz granulated sugar
METHOD:

1. Put all the ingredients into a bowl and beat until thick.

2. Shape meringue into a ring on baking parchment.

3. Bake in a preheated oven at 120 C/250 F/Gas ½ for 1 hour.

4. Reduce heat to 110 C/225 F/Gas ¼ for a further 30 minutes.

5. Allow to cool.

6. Place on serving dish and fill with whipped cream and fresh fruit of your choice.

(A healthier option)

Ingredients
60g of unsalted butter (softened)
4 of tablespoons of light brown sugar
2 eggs (beaten)
2 of tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
200g of porridge oats
100g of milk chocolate chips

Method
1. Combine butter and sugar together.
2. Add beaten eggs and mix well.
3. Add honey, baking powder and vanilla
extract and mix well. 4. In a separate bowl
blitz 100g of porridge oats until they resemble a flour like consistency.
6. Add to mixture and mix well. Add remaining 100g of porridge oats and chocolate chips and
mix well.
7. Place grease proof paper on baking trays.
8. Divide mixture into 12 balls and place on baking trays.
9. Flatten cookies with ur fingers until they are about 1cm thick.
10. Place in preheated oven 180 degrees and bake until golden.
