Dear Detroit Voter:
On Tuesday, August 4, 2020, a Primary Election is scheduled for the purpose of
nominating federal, state and local officials to public offices. Additionally, on
Tuesday, November 3, 2020, a General Election is scheduled to elect the
President of the United States and other federal, state and local Officials.
Proposals may also appear on the ballot.
In accordance with the Governor's stay home, stay safe Executive Order, we are
strongly encouraging our voters to vote by absentee. Therefore enclosed is an
‘Absentee Voter Application and a postage paid return envelope. You may use
this application to request an absentee ballot for both the Primary and General
Elections. To do so, you must be careful to complete the following yellow
highlighted areas:
> Check both Primary and General Election boxes,
> Be sure to sign and date your absentee voter application.
You can expect to receive your absentee ballot for both elections approximately
five (5) to six (6) weeks prior to Election Day.

step 1. After completely filing out the application, sign and date the application in the place

Step 2. Deliver the application by one of the following methods: |
(a) Place the application in an envelope addressed to the appropriate clerk and deposit
it in the United States mail or with another public postal service, express mail
service, parcel post service, or common carrier. Proper postage is required.
Deliver the application personally to the clerk's office, to the clerk, or to the clerk's
authorized assistant.
(c) In either (a) or (b), a member of the immediate family of the voter including a

father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-
law, grandparent, or grandchild or a person residing in the voter’s household may
mail or deliver the application to the clerk for the applicant.
