This engine programme includes a number of engines designed for gas fuel

The ME-GA engine is the latest addition to our dual fuel portfolio. Methane
is admitted during the compression stroke, which allows for a lower supply
pressure compared to other dual fuel engines. This is especially interesting
for vessels with large amounts of boil-off gas where the investment in fuel
compressors can be substantially reduced.

The ME-GA engine is Tier III compliant in dual fuel mode and can be

Two EGR-matching concepts are available depending on engine bore:

EcoEGR is an SFOC optimised version of the EGRBP system available on

Four-stroke GenSets are Tier III compatible when a downstream SCR is


added to clean the exhaust gas on a Tier II engine. The additional SCR will
only have an impact on SFOC if the backpressure is increased.

EGR blower is a core component of MAN Energy Solutions’ high-pressure
EGR system that raises the exhaust-gas pressure in order to overcome the
pressure difference between exhaust gas and scavenging receiver. In
addition the recirculated exhaust gas amount is controlled during the EGR
operation by varying the blower speed.

The desired EGR operating conditions are achieved by using a high-speed


electric motor, directly coupled to the compressor wheel and speed
