Marijuana Regulations

Some states such as Colorado are working on policies and regulatory measures on

marijuana. Legalizing marijuana has been a contentious issue that has attracted a lot of debates

among scholars and experts. Many states in the U.S have had discussions on legalizing

marijuana. For instance, in Colorado the government authorities are tasked with issuance of

license and establishing policies on legalizing marijuana (Kamin, 2017). However there have

been debates on the effects of legalizing marijuana.

To begin with, the use of marihuana substance has major effects on the health of the users

especially on the respiratory health (Kamin, 2017). The use of marihuana may also affect the

memory of the user. It impairs the judgment as well as problem solving skills. Therefore, the

user remain non productive. Also, when the user is under the influence of smoking marihuana

while driving, they may cause accidents. Some of these accidents are fatal. Therefore, the

government may not afford to lose lives just because it legalizes the use of marihuana. Also, after

one’s memory and judgment is impaired, one is likely to commit crimes. Indeed, crime many not

make the nation prospers. Moreover, incidences like rape , prostitution may also committed

under the influence of marihuana (Kahan & Srivastava, 2014). Moreover, the users when under

influence sat work may injure themselves or even other people. So, the social effect of

marihuana to its users is substantial enough to make the government ban the use of marihuana.

There is need to have a moral and healthy nation.

Another effect of marihuana that makes it illegal to be legitimized is the fact that it

jeopardizes young people. It is unfortunately to see the society misleads its young population. By

legaliz9ng it implies that even the young people are allowed to use it (Kim, Hwang, & Berry,

2019). First medically, young people have tender respiratory system that will be eroded by the

smoke. Also, since marihuana impairs judgments, seeing young person’s become hallucinated

because they have smoked marihuana is dangerous. First, these children will grow unproductive.

Secondly, their education may be affected (Kamin, 2017). The young generation should be

given their time sand space by illegalizing the use of marijuana. Moreover, the trailers will even

sell marihuana to young people despite the law being paces prohibiting the same. Because the

society cannot control children reaching these substances, banning it will help control its use by

the young persons.

Furthermore, legalizing marihuana will enhance its abuse. The rate of consumption will

go up. Also, the people will become irresponsible under the influences of marihuana.

Additionally, due to its addictive nature, its uses will lead to use of other substances like cocaine,

heroin among others (Kamin, 2017). Drag traffickers will find the opportunity to smuggle these

other drugs since the people will be comprises to sue it especially after they are addicted by the

marihuana. It is dangerous if the society legalizes the use of marihuana and then others drugs

become abused in the society. The uses will become unproductive, they do not want to look for

work or they abandon their duties. Therefore, they will not be able to support their families I not

themselves. Also, legalizing marihuana will mean that the government will spend extra income t,

taxes to open up many facilities for rehabilitation. This is due to the fact that many people will be

become addictive and hence helpless (Kahan & Srivastava, 2014). They will need rehabilitated

so that they can become useful members of the society again. Also, when accident occurs

because of the influence of marijuana, it is the government that will feel the effects so much

because they are responsible for providing safety for everyone. Marihuana has no medicinal

values as purported by the users.

Legalizing marihuana will traumatize families. The resign being, no one family will feel

better when one o0f their members is abusing marijuana (Kahan & Srivastava, 2014). First, they

fear one of their one will loose their employment when they become addicted. Secondly, the

family will not be productive. The Harms of Marijuana, its correct to say that marihuana does not

directly kill, however, the long term effect may lead to death (Kamin, 2017). The effects

include, addiction, operating machine under the influence of marihuana among others effects

may lead to death of the user. Besides, is linked to crime commission. First, it is responsible for

smuggling of several illicitness substances.

In conclusion, marihuana should be banned. It has several effects on the users. First, it

leads to addiction, in which the users become unproductive a lazy. The user may lose their jobs

because they find it difficult to accomplish the assigned task or even fail to go to work.

Secondly, operating machine or during care sunder the influence of marihuana is deadly. The

users may cause accident or they may harm themselves. Also, the use of marihuana is associated

with criminal activities. The user may commit crime such as drug trafficking, rape among other

rimes. Moreover, the young person may also be influenced. This may affect the live of the

young negations including their academic lives. Legalizing marihuana will mean that anyone can

abuse it. Finally, parents should take the first step to supervisor that they prevent their children

from abusing marihuana. Its effect may be works to cure that to prevent it early. Moreover, the

government should also put in places policies that strictly prohibits the abuse of marihuana`. The

government should also ensure that is borders are not porous for the drug traffickers. It is

essential to have a healthy society. The society with productive and responsible citizens will

likely prosper. Legalizing marihuana will dent this spirit of responsible nation that seek to realize
