GOD WANTS YOU BLESSED

“The first thing you should note is that God wants you
blessed. God wants you blessed so much that you would
not have to borrow or owe anybody”.

I believe in miracles. I believe that somebody is about to be delivered

permanently from debt by reading this e-book.

The first thing you should note is that God wants you blessed. God wants
you blessed so much that you would not have to borrow or owe anybody.
He said, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses
you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 1 If through
you all the families of the earth are to be blessed then I do not think you
should owe some of the families of the earth. God wants you blessed. God
has pleasure in the prosperity of his servants. 2

The scripture says, “And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit
of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your
ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The
Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to
your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall
lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you
the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you
heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you
today, and are careful to observe them.” 3

I have proven and tested this truth from God’s word and found it to be true.
God has never lied before. He will never lie to anybody. Being in debt is

being enslaved; owing money is slavery. The borrower is servant to the
lender.4 There is some form of control and domination that somebody has
over your life, over your thought and over your emotions when you owe
that person money. If you are in debt today, expect a miracle.

There was a woman, the wife of a prophet. When her husband died, he
owed so much money the creditors wanted to take the two sons to become
slaves. This woman ran to the prophet of God, Elisha and God gave her a
miracle. She did not only pay the debts, she was able to live comfortably
after that. 5 My God is not the God of enough; He is a God of more than
enough. He will launch somebody reading this e-book from a negative
situation to surplus.

There is a story of the sons of the prophet who asked Elisha to give them
permission to construct a bigger hostel for them to stay. The man of God
gave them permission but while they were constructing, the ax head flew
off from the ax of one of those cutting down trees and fell into the river. The
man called on the man of God, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed.” He was
owing somebody the ax. To let you know that God does not want you owing
anybody anything that will put your life under pressure, the man got a
miracle. You know iron will normally sink but the ax head floated on the
water. And the man of God asked him to pick it up. 6 Thus I know that when
a person is in debt and the person trust God for miracles, God does works
miracles. Somebody reading this today is receiving a miracle.

 Chapter Two
7 STEPS TO GET OUT OF DEBTS

“If you can think well, there is always a way out of every predicament
you find yourself. There is a way out of that mountain of debts”

Please take the following tips from me if you want to get out of debt.

1. Renew your mind with the word of God with respect to your finances.

It will be very difficult for you to break free from debt as long as you
maintain a poverty mindset. It will be tough. Borrowing is a sign that you
believe you are poor and you do not have. The scripture says you will be
transformed by the renewing of your mind.1 Become convinced that God
wants you to prosper financially. Many of those who owe in the church
are those who have problem believing that God wants a Christian to
have money. If you believe that money is the root of all evil you will have
a problem with your finances. Money is not the root of all evils; it is the
love of money; 2 your emotional relationship with money that can
become the root of all evil. It is first within and then without. When you
have a prosperity mindset, you will find it difficult to borrow. So renew
your mind with the word of God.

2. Ask God for a hearing heart.

This is the prayer Solomon prayed and it is one of the best prayers
that was prayed in the bible. God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”
He said, “Therefore give to your servant an understanding heart to
judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who

 is able to judge this great people of yours?” 3 I believe by ‘an
understanding heart’, King Solomon was asking for a hearing heart; a
heart that can receive revelations from God. It is critical to know that
hearing from God and obeying His voice is the key to miracles in life.
Do you want to experience miracles in your finances and live free
from curses? You must be able to hear from God. King David said,
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” 4 It is the starting point.
Jesus said to Peter, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets
for a catch.” And Peter caught so much fish; his boat was sinking and
that of his friends. This was on the same sea where they had tried all
night and caught nothing. 5

One word from God can change your life forever. It is hearing from
God that showed me my route out of poverty and lack. So ask God for
a hearing heart.

3. Make a list of all the money you owe

For some people it is so vague, it is scattered. But the scripture says,

“Let all things be done decently and in order.6 Order is the key to
increase. If you want to experience increase in your life, the first step
is to put your house in order. Put your finances in order. Make a list of
all the money you owe. God will not bless your mess.

Anytime you want to invite God into a situation, create an

atmosphere of order, He will step in. If you create disorder, He will
turn around. He cannot function in disorder. So make a list of all the
money you owe.

 4. Ask God for a specific miracle since you know exactly how much you
owe now.

Do not ask God, “Bless me with money.” Mention the amount of

money. God answers specific prayers. Whatever things you ask when
you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.7 So
you could ask God for a specific miracle. The moment you pray and
you receive a witness in your heart, God has answered you. Then
begin to confess and declare that your debts are paid. Engage
powerful spiritual principles. “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever
says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does
not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be
done, he will have whatever he says.” 8 Confess that you are free from
debt.

In fact, one lady did an interesting thing. After listing the money she
owed and the different people she owed, she took a cardboard. She
drew mountains, depending on the size of the debt and wrote the
amount of money she owed each person. Every day, she spoke to the
mountains because whosoever shall say to this mountain (her own
mountain was a mountain of debt), be removed and be cast into the
sea... Eventually she cleared all her debts.

Do not make the mistake of cancelling your miracle with negative

confession. In one breath, you are commanding the mountain to go,
and in another breath, you are lamenting that things are difficult. Do
not make the mistake of making any negative confession.

5. Break the hold of the devil over your finances

 Bind the strongman. This is very critical. As you pray, talk to the devil
because he wants to keep you in slavery through your finances. Jesus
said, “No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods,
unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his
house.”9 Bind the strongman and ask angels to move money into your
life. It is not only demons that are spiritual beings, angels are too. The
scripture says, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to
minister for those who will inherit salvation?”10 Ask angels to move. I
do this often. Why? Because I happen to know that though there are
millions that move around this city every day, you may be here and
not touch anything. Also, I happen to know that the forces that move
money are invisible forces. So I take control, break the hold of the
devil over money in this city, and ask angels to move the money in my
direction.

6. Pay your tithe

If you owe God, there is no way you will not owe human beings.
Sometimes something is wrong with your finances but still pay
your tithe. The scripture says, “Bring the entire tithe into the
storehouse that there may be food in my house. And try me now in
this, says the Lord of host. If I will not open for you the windows of
heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room
enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourers for your sakes
so that it will not destroy the fruits of your ground nor shall the vine
fail to bear fruit for you in the field says the Lord of host. And all
nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land, says the

 Lord of hosts.” 11 The person who called you debtor will soon come
around to borrow money from you.

God will do a miracle in your life but please do your part. Commit to
obeying God in every area of giving. It is very critical. A widow and
her child were about to die and she met a man of God. The first thing
the man of God said was, “Make me a small cake … and bring it to me.”
12 If she did not obey, she would have died in poverty. Every time God
tells you to give, please understand, you are not giving for God’s sake.
Anybody who thinks he is giving to save the church from collapsing is
deceiving himself or herself.

Please do not give to help God. He does not need your help. I am sorry
to put it that way but that is the truth. God does not need any body’s
help. What He is asking you to give was given to you by Him. He is not
going to die of hunger if you do not give. When God routed Elijah
through the house of that woman, it was to save that woman not to
save Elijah or God. God had used birds (not even human beings) to
feed Elijah before. That woman was going to die if God did not route a
prophet through her life. 13 Please obey God every single time He
asked you to give.

When I hear from people some of the things they have done in
obedience to God, then I know the level where they are in their walk
with God. Tithe is ABC. There are higher levels of giving.

I was sitting in my office, discussing with a pastor a few years ago

when the Holy Spirit said, “Give him your V-booth”, and I loved that
car. Sometime ago, a young single lady came with a cheque and said,

 “The Lord said I should clear my account and put the money in the
building fund.” The amount was over four hundred thousand Naira.
When a person says that, I recognize it. I just say, welcome to the club
because I know that person has crossed the line (of poverty). Obey
God in giving in all areas.

7. Make a decision not to get into debt again.

“I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous
forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”14 You will not beg.
Your children will not beg. You must be disciplined in your spending.
Owe no one anything except to love one another. 15 You put yourself
in slavery because of the things you buy on credit. Some of us are
beginning to dodge other people in the church. When you see
someone, your heart skips. They knock on your door, your heart
skips. There is no need for this. Do your level per time.

 CHAPTER THREE
DELAYED GRATIFICATION

“You must be willing to deny yourself some things if

you truly want to travel fast in your journey to
financial freedom”.

Life is in phases, men are in sizes. You know there is a Yoruba

proverb that talks about a person that is not big that is breathing
heavily. Do your size per time. I love the way Dr. Oyedepo1 puts it, “If
you wear an oversized coat to impress people, they will soon mock
you.” They will mock you because the size of the coat will show that it
is too much for your size. You are driving a car that you cannot
maintain, and you are now borrowing money to buy fuel. Sell the car
and invest the money or start a business with it. And when you can
afford to buy fuel, drive a car. As it is, you are not the one driving the
car; it is the car that is driving you.

You must be patient. Maturity is the ability to delay gratification. I

read some time ago the story of the man who founded ABC Transport.
They asked him, “What is the secret to your business?” His response
was, “I was able to delay gratification. Out of all my colleagues in
school, I was the last person to buy a colour TV set and a Video
playing machine. All the money that came I plowed back into the
business. That was why I was able to travel fast.”

 Enough of trying to impress people. All these jewellery and clothes
are not what life is about. Life is more than these. In fact, one’s life
does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”2

Someone in business may be asking, “Can I take a loan to invest?

Absolutely. You can borrow to invest. My emphasis in this e-book is,
“Do not borrow to consume. It is the worst form of borrowing in this
world.” As a business person, if you are borrowing to invest, please
first of all acquire necessary skills for managing the risks that go
along with debt or else you will be in big trouble. The wealthiest
people are usually the ones that owe the largest money but they do
not lose any sleep over it because they have skills to manage the
debts. You need the help of a lawyer and an accountant. When you are
signing when borrowing, there are things on that paper that you
cannot see. It takes a professional eye to see them. They are called
hidden charges. When a bank says you are taking the loan at 25 per
cent per annum, you are not taking the loan at 25 per cent per annum
because there are hidden charges.

This is why you need to get an accountant and a lawyer to help you
look at the loan documents. You will not fail.
