7. PROCEDURE
7.1. Substrate Preparation
1. Remove paint, mortar droppings and weak laitance,
2. Remove oil, grease, and fats with a degreasing solution.
3. Sweep or vacuum the floor to remove all dust and dirt.
4. If the floor is to be washed clean, allow it to dry out completely before applying the MASTERTOP 20.
5. Protect glass, metal, paintwork and others from splashes.

7.2. Application
1. Prior to application stir the MASTERTOP 20.
2. Pour MASTERTOP 20 onto the clean dry concrete surface and spread evenly using a soft broom.

3. Brush the MASTERTOP 20 backwards and forwards over the floor to ensure even penetration.
4. As the floor dries out remove any MASTERTOP 20 that is not being absorbed, using a squeegee or
mop.
5. Apply a second treatment the following day in a similar manner to the first. MASTERTOP 20 that is not
absorbed must be washed off before it sets hard.
6. If required, a third coat can be applied.
1. WATCHPOINTS

7.3. Dense Floors

1. Hard compacted / power floated surfaces may not have sufficient porosity to allow absorption of the
MASTERTOP 20.
2. Prior to treatment test for absorption of water.
3. If concrete is absorbent, test a small area with neat MASTERTOP 20 and diluted MASTERTOP 20 to see
whether penetration is achieved. Then proceed accordingly.

7.4. Porous Floors

1. MASTERTOP 20 is not suitable for floors of high porosity.
2. Do not allow pools of MASTERTOP 20 to dry out by evaporation, as this will cause a hard white
deposit to form, that can only be removed by grinding.
3. Weak concrete surfaces will not benefit from treatment with MASTERTOP 20.
