Literary Society is a blend of writers,
quizzers, actors, poets, speakers and
artists who excel in the arena of
literature, frame the ladder of
intellectualism step by step and
guide everyone to zenith.

The Literary Society consists of 8

sub-societies- Muse(for readers and
writers), Thapar Quiz Club(for
quizzing), DebSoc(for debating),
PoetSoc(for Poetry), Punjabi
LitSoc(for literature of all kinds in
Punjabi), Anubhooti(for Hindi
literature) and Theater Club
(for stage plays) and Cineastes(for
movie lovers).
ACCOMMODATION FOR THE DURATION FOR THE FEST IS FREE
ON FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS, SO MAKE SURE TO
REGISTER.
REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO THE PARTICIPANTS.
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE FOR ANY EVENT.

The General Quiz will contain questions about everything and

anything under the Sun. The format of the quiz will be prelims
followed by Finals.
Major Nair is one of the best quizmasters of the country and has
travelled across the country to host more than 100 quizzing
events.

The India Quiz will contain questions about anything related to
India. The format of the quiz will be prelims followed by Finals.

Sameer is the president of K-Circle, a quiz club centered around

Hyderabad. He has conducted quizzes at several quizzing
festivals in and around Hyderabad.

around the world. So, basically its a travel +
art/design/architecture quiz.

Challengers Debate
CASH PRIZES OF 21K

This event comprises of 3 rounds of debating, after each round a

few of the contestants will be eliminated and from the final
round will emerge the winner.
This event will consist of various formats of debating for
instance turncoat, presidential, balloon debate etc.
Marking will be done individually.
 BBC's JAM
CASH PRIZES OF 4.5K

In this event the participants will have to speak on a particular

topic for one min non stop,with no grammatical mistakes, no
fumbling or stammering, no repetition of thought or ideas.
If one of the participant commits such mistake , other
participants may point it out by a tap , and as per the discretion
of the 'Jam God' will continue from the time from where the
former left.
       Marking is done on the basis of for how much time the
person spoke and incentives of marks is given when the person
clears a certain amount of time.

Conference
CASH PRIZES OF 6K
Participants would be allotted different famous and
controversial personalities. 1-2 minutes would be given to each
participant to represent that personality. After that the other
participants and the judges would ask questions to the
participant related to the personality. Marks would be given to
the participants for representation, type and amount of
questions asked and the manner of answering.
Punjabi Debate
CASH PRIZES OF 6K
There would be pairs, 2 participants each, and each pair would
be allotted 10 minutes.
The participants would be given 5+3 minutes to justify or speak
about their side and 2 minutes would be given, after both
participants are done speaking, for open house in which they
can argue or reason their points.

English Prose Writing
CASH PRIZES OF 5K
"The online prose /essay writing event this time is open themed.
Send in anything and everything that  makes your pen glide. But for
a twist, we want your pieces in 'reflective writing'. Reflective writing is
an  analytical  practice in which the writer describes every event by
adding a personal reflection on the meaning of the incident or
emotion in his or her life. The event will be judged by an unbiased
panel. Any of your work will not be used by us anywhere without
your permission.
The Last date for submission is 22nd February.

The rules for the same are as follows :

1. No plagiarism is allowed. If a particular work is being used as an
influence, please mention the source.
2. You get unlimited word limit.
4. Results once published cannot be challenged.
5. If the work being submitted is an already published piece, do
mention so along with the publication details.
6. Multiple entries per person is allowed.
7. Attach your relevant details with the submission.
8. Digital mode of writing is the preferred manner of submission of
your entry/-ies.
9. Also, if you follow the exact rules mentioned above and stick to the
theme, you'll get a chocolate from us.

English Poetry Slam
CASH PRIZES OF 8K
RULES:
1. The theme for the poetry slam is open.
2. It is required to memorise the poem by the individuals. Marks
can be deducted if read from any means.
3. Your slam will be judged based upon its theme, narration and
presentation.
4. Duration of recitation is 3-5 minutes. Marks can be deducted
if the time limit is exceeded.
Punjabi Poetry Slam

The event will be held in two rounds. In first round the
participants can recite any of their previously written poems on
any topic. In second round the participants have to write and
recite a poem on a particular topic which would be given to
them on the spot. 30 minutes time would be given to write the
poem...
