Luna, Taryn. “California's Workplace Sexual Harassment Laws Strengthened.

” Los
Angeles Times, Los Angeles Times, 11 Oct. 2019,
www.latimes.com/california/story/2019-10-10/california-workplace-sexual-harassment-la
ws.

Taryn Luna is an LA Times staff writer. The article is written to inform the general
public about the politics of Sacramento, California concerning sexual harassment laws in the
workplace in retrospect to past laws vetoed by the former governor. She writes more about the
present governor of Sacramento bringing up the same protection laws that were previously
vetoed and working towards their legislation by the Californian government. The article is a
useful source because it is reflecting on sexual harassment being a problem holding relevance in
California to have more protection laws surrounding it. It’s also informative on the protection
laws it will bring so sexual harassment victims can be aware of their rights. The source is reliable
because it's from the LA Times newspaper. It’s bias lies in favor of the present Sacramento
governor in comparison to the former. The article’s goal is to inform of the recent California
politics surrounding protection laws concerning sexual harassment in the workplace.

What Is Sexual Harassment - United Nations.

www.un.org/womenwatch/osagi/pdf/whatissh.pdf.

The author is unknown. The pdf discusses the definition of sexual harassment in
accordance to EEOC(Equal Employment Oppurtunity Commission), and provides many
examples of verbal, non-verbal and physical sexual harassment. It discusses the term of
unwelcome behavior and the correct usage of the term in regards to sexual harassment.
The source is useful because it explains sexual harassment as what it is and lists examples
of the many different ways of sexual harassment that could be verbal, non-verbal, or physical as
well. The information is reliable because it comes from the un.org. The goal of the source was to
inform what sexual harassment is and what it could be.

This source was helpful because it supports my claim of sexual harassment happening in
a multitude of ways. It helps shape my argument because it gives a variety of examples of
harassment and how it is harassment. I can utilize the information I’ve learned about the variety
of sexual harassment to put in my PSA talking about the different forms of sexual harassment to
perhaps give victims realization of the harassment they have recieved without knowing it was.

“What Is Sexual Harassment.” YouTube/ What Is Sexual Harassment, Amaze Org, 3 Jan.
2019, www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKk-pbeW3ic.

The publisher and creator of the video is Amaze Org, a YouTube channel with 145k
subscribers. The video covers examples of sexual harassment, and how to deal with the
situation if you’re a child. It discusses how you should never blame yourself in any type of
way because of the harasser’s actions.

The video brings up good examples of common cases of sexual harassment occurring
to young students. The source is biased towards the favor of the victim and reminds the
audience that they never deserve to be harassed. The goal of the source is to introduce the
idea of sexual harassment and how to deal with the situation as a child bearing not much
legal power.

This source was helpful to me because it gave more ground to more common ways
children are sexually harassed by other children and ways for a child to assess help. It helps
shape my argument because it shows that children who may feel helpless have a way to
successfully end sexual harassment they are found victim to. I can use this source in my
PSA by informing how child victims can find help. The video changed hadn’t changed my
idea of sexual harassment but informed me of a way to end it if subjected to it.

Sexual harassment can happen in many ways, and society needs

improvement on the advocacy of help that can be provided no matter what
type of situation the victim has suffered.
