1.- INTRODUCTION
The ALJOTRONIC CONTROL 2 control panel is a microprocessed control panel which has been
designed to cover a wide range of uses and is adaptable to the needs of the clients and the type of elevator.
The main feature of this control panel is its distributed system, consisting of a main control board (TC1)
located in the control panel, and several additional boards located in the car (TC2, COT-01) and landings
(TC3).
The boards are joined through a bus, which provides significant advantages :
- Reduction in the number of signalling wires to the installation. With a 4 wires bus for the shaft as well as for
the car, all signalling may be controlled independently from the number of floors and signal type (up and down
lights, hall lanterns, etc.).
- Flexibility. It allows new functions to be incorporated, special boards may be designed which would be
connected to the bus anywhere in the installation.
The programming allows the user to cover the basic characteristics of any elevator (number of stops, type of
doors, etc) as well as, the possible peculiarities of a certain installation (through car, screen overlapping, car
door delay, non-consecutive floors on the position display, etc.), all is done through 3 keys and LCD display
incorporated in the main control board (TC1).

NOTES
* FIRE SERVICE
The fire service key must be located on the lobby and may be programmed in the control panel. Once
the fire service switch has been turned on, the elevator will proceed as follows:
- THE LIFT WILL GO TO THE LOBBY
If on its way, the lift has to pass through the lobby, all the calls will be cancelled and it will stop at the
lobby. If the lift does not pass through the lobby, all the calls will be cancelled and it will stop at the
nearest stop following its direction, and, without opening doors, the lift will travel to the lobby.
- THE LIFT WILL NOT ADMIT CALLS
Once the lift arrives at the lobby, it will not admit calls.
* CAR PREFERENCE
In the case of the car with a Car preference key switch, it will only admit calls coming from the car
when it is activated.

SWITCHES
SW 1 CONTROL 2
1 ON INSPECTION
OFF NORMAL
2 ON/OFF PROGRAMMING
PARAMETERS
3 ON/OFF MULTIPLEX
4 ON/OFF DIRECTION
Switch 1 is used for select Normal or inspection depending on how the N / I switch (car top connection box).
Switch 2 is used to save new parameters to the eeprom memory of the TC1 electronic board. When the
“Parameters” option of the TC1 electronic board is selected, and after the programming is modified, the TC1
electronic board will show “Switch 2 to OFF”, then the switch 2 must be placed in OFF position, and it must
not be changed to ON until the TC1 electronic board shows “Switch 2 to ON” (while switch 2 is selected in
OFF position the datas are stored in the eeprom memory). After the datas are stored in the eeprom memory,
if switch 2 is not placed in ON position, the TC1 electronic board will be always working in Inspection mode.
The way of working is the same with the “Password” option. It is very important that in power supply off
and in power supply on, the switch must be in ON position, this is for avoid a modification of the programming
stored in the eeprom memory.
When there are more than one controller working in multiplex (duplex, triplex,…) they must have the switches
3 & 4 in a different position.
For instance, for duplex: one controller will have SW3=SW4=OFF and the other will have SW3=ON and
SW4=OFF.
For triplex, two controllers will be as a duplex and the third will have SW3=OFF and SW4=ON.
10 V1.3
And for quadruplex, three controllers will be as a triplex and the fourth will have SW3=SW4=ON.
Besides the TC1 electronic board includes three outputs, these are their uses:
J6.3 (only for V3F elevators): this output is used only with an emergency landing device. The output is
activated when the emergency landing device starts working, and is deactivated when the emergency
landing device finishes working
J7.1 (only for V3F elevators): low speed output. This output is activated when the elevators is
travelling at low speed
J7.2 (only for V3F elevators): zero speed output. This output is activated at the start and at the stop of
the elevator in order to get comfort
11 V1.3
J8.1/J8.2 ENCODER Only for V3F elevators
PULSES This input receives the encoder pulses from the
machine. The high level must be 24 Vdc and the low
level must be 0 Vdc.
J1.1/J1-2 (6) Only for hydraulic elevators
This input checks the upper limit switch contact (FRS).
When the elevator has not activated the FRS the
voltage must be 220 Vac, but if the elevator has
activated the FRS the voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
Only for V3F elevators
This input checks if the elevator is travelling according
to load or not. When the elevator is going down with
full load or is going up with empty load the voltage
must be 220 Vac. When the elevator is going up with
full load or is going down with empty load the voltage
must be approx. 0 Vac.
J1.3/J1.4 SAFETY LINE This input receives the safely line contacts. When all
the safety line contacts are closed the voltage must be
220 Vac, but if one or several of the safety line
contacts are opened the voltage must be approx. 0
Vac.
J1.5/J1.6 DOOR This input receives the door contacts. When all the
CONTACTS door contacts are closed the voltage must be 220 Vac,
but if one or several of the door contacts are opened
the voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
J1.7/J1.8 (7) Only for hydraulic or V3F elevators
When the elevator is doing an advanced opening or is
doing a relevelling, the input is used for checking that
the devices used for this feature are working correctly,
this means that the elevator is not travelling at high
speed, that RR1 & RR2 detectors are detecting
magnets, and the components controlled by RR1 &
RR2 are working correctly, then the voltage must be
220 Vac.
J1.9/ LOCK This input receives the lock contacts. When all the lock
J1.10 CONTACTS contacts are closed the voltage must be 220 Vac, but if
one or several of the lock contacts are opened the
voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
J2.1 (4) Only for hydraulic elevators
This input checks the thermistor, oil temperature
thermostat, thermic and D.I.F. (phase reverse
detector). When all of them are closed the voltage
must be 220 Vac, but if one or several are opened the
voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
Only for V3F elevators
This input checks if the emergency landing device must
work for a power supply failure. When the voltage is
220 Vac the emergency landing device must not work.
12 V1.3
J2.2 CONTACTOR This input checks if one or several of the contactors
BLOCKED are blocked. When the elevator is stopped the voltage
must be 220 Vac (common J2.6), but if the elevator is
travelling the voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
J2.3 (5) Only for hydraulic elevators
This input checks the presostate contact (for detecting
overload). When the load in the car is 110% the
voltage must be 24 Vdc (common J2.6), if the load in
the car is not 110% the voltage must be approx. 0
Vdc.
Only for machine roomless elevators (SKM)
This input checks if there is an slide in the machine
(between motor and belts), this is checked with an
inductive detector placed in the overspeed device.
When the elevator is travelling in the input there are
pulses from the inductive detector, high level of the
pulses is 24 Vdc (common J2.6).
J2.4 CMS This input checks the CMS contact. When the elevator
is bellow the CMS the voltage must be 220 Vac
(common J2.6). When the elevator is over the CMS
the voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
J2.5 CMB This input checks the CMB contact. When the elevator
is over the CMB the voltage must be 220 Vac
(common J2.6). When the elevator is bellow the CMB
the voltage must be approx. 0 Vac.
These power supplies are protected by their corresponding fuse which will vary depending on voltage of
retiring cam and brake.
13 V1.3
DL1 when is ON, indicates that there is 24 Vdc voltage.
It is located in the COP of the car and controls all car 24V signalling : pushbuttons, registers. It is connected
to the TC1 through communications bus.
Signals :
14 V1.3
- If it flashes slowly, it means the board has power supply (220Vac), but does not communicate with
the TC1.
- If the led is off, it means the board does not work or has no power supply (220Vac).
The switch 1 should be ON when there are more than 16 calls, otherwise OFF.
Normally, one board is located per floor and controls the signalling of each floor. It is connected to TC1
through bus.
Each TC3 board must have a different set of switches. With the switches the “address” and the “number” of
the board are defined. On the menu “See terminals” the address is used. On the menu “Programming” the
numbers are used.
In some cases, there will be more than one board per floor (selective up & down with fire service switch),
otherwise it is recommended to number the boards coinciding with their levels.

3.5.- CAR DOOR OPERATORS CONTROL BOARD
This board controls one door operator. With two car doors, there will be two COT-01 electronic boards.
They are connected to TC1 through bus.
When the control panel is on inspection, the board allows operation with open / close push buttons which
includes this board. It also allows operation with push buttons when the board does not receive
communication. Once the communication is recuperated, push buttons are restricted.
Provided with an input for photocell. The contact is programmable (open or close). The programming is
carried out from the TC1.
Provided with microinversor input. When this input is activated (open contact), the door opens independently
from the door state.

If there are two car doors, there will be one COT-01 per entrance, and in this case one boards will have the
switch number 4 ON and the other one OFF.
For a single entrance the board will have the switch 4 ON.
The selection of the entrance to open at each floor is made by the keys on the main board (TC1), allowing to
choose the required entrance at each floor (See “Display Manual of Control 2”).
17 V1.3
3.5.2.- V3F CAR DOOR OPERATOR BOARD
For V3F car operators, the controller adds a special TC3 board, which gives the open and close orders to
the V3F board, and detects the reopening signal coming from the V3F board in case of the photocell ,
obstacle, etc). This board is located in the connection box on top of the car and has a LED which indicates
the following:
This can control single or double entrances, so there will be only one TC3 board in the connection box for
either case.
The TC3 board has one output per operator in order to give the open or close orders. When the TC3 board
receives an order from the controller to close doors, actives an output, which actives a relay that gives the
order to the V3F board. When the TC3 board receives an order from the controller to open doors,
deactivates the output, which deactivates the relay that gives the order to the V3F board, which will mean that
it will open doors.
The TC3 board features an input per operator which reports from the V3F boards when the doors are
reopening (photocell , obstacle, etc). This signal works as follows:
Provided with DLI Led which indicates that the power supply is on.
Shows any combination of two digits (numbers or letters, capitals as well as small letters).

DL8 OPEN/CLOSE ENTRY 2 (on: CLOSE)
It is connected to the TC9 and is used for charging the battery which serves as power supply for emergency
light and the alarm. Provided with an adjusting potentiometer in order to adjust the alarm volume.
19 V1.3
Provided with a DL1 led which indicates that the battery is being charged (when the led is on).
3.10.- TRANSFORMER
This supplies all power for control panel, except for the motor and doors which receive supply directly from
the input .
PRIMARY (230-380-400-420) Input. You should select the voltage closest to that existing in your
network, through the white wire which is connected to the transformer (normally factory made at
380).
This also provides power for the door motor when these are monophase.
SECONDARY (230) Supplies voltage for the series of lock contacts and the main board (TC1).
Note: The valves for hydraulic lifts may also use 230 Vac.
There are three types of transformers for the different voltages used for r. cam, brake and valves.
¡¡ATENTION!! Please take note of voltage when ordering ALJOTRONIC control panel
3.11.- PROTECTIONS
These consist of thermo-magnetic devices, fuses and a phase reverse controller (not included with V3F).
This device detects inverted phases or any fault. In this case, the device will open the safety line and stop the
car immediately. Not applicable for V3F lifts.
This device shuts off power to entire control panel EXCEPT TO THE POWER WIRES, CAR LIGHTING
TERMINALS, PLUG PIT BUTTON PANEL TERMINALS AND THE HEATING RESISTANCES IN
THE HYRAULICS, which will continue to have power to operate.
20 V1.3
3.11.3.- Fuses
F1 (in machine roomless elevator SKM is called F4): This element leaves the safety line and the main
board without power (TC1), EVERYTHING ELSE SHOULD HAVE STILL POWER.
F2 (in machine roomless elevator SKM is called F5): This element leaves all the car roof without single
phase voltage except the car light.
F3 (only for hydraulic elevators): This element leaves the emergency valve without voltage.
F4 (only for hydraulic elevators): This element leaves the heating resistances without voltage.
Please see 24V power board (section 3.2) for the rest of fuses.
There are two limit switches at each end of the travel. The FRI is at lower part of the shaft. The FRS is at the
upper level of the shaft. In the SKM motor room less both switches travel with the car and actuators are fixed
to the shaft wall (see SKM Installation Manual). In other type of elevators both switches are fixed to the shaft
wall and actuators travel with the car.
The FRS actuator must be fixed in such a way that when the car is stopped at the upper level the contact is
still closed. It should be slightly higher.
The FRI actuator must be fixed in such a way that when the car is stopped at the lower level the contact is still
closed. It should be slightly lower.
The other element are the speed change switch. CMB at the bottom of the shaft. CMS at the top of the shaft.
In the SKM motor room less both switches travel with the car and actuators are fixed to the shaft wall. (see
SKM Installation Manual). In other type of elevators both switches are fixed to the shaft wall and actuators
travel with the car.
21 V1.3
When the controller does not know where it is. For instance, when goes from Inspection mode to Normal, it
travels to reset (correction travel). The controller checks if either CMB or CMS are activated (contact
opened), if that is the case, checks whether the detectors are detecting a screen. If this is the case the lift will
know where it is. Reset finished. Otherwise it will move until it reaches a screen. If when it goes from
Inspection mode to Normal, neither CMB nor CMS are activated, it travels to reset to the lower level
(correction travel). This travel will end when CMB is activated and the detectors are in front of a screen.
With these elevators, there is one screen per floor, which is the stop screen. The length of these screens
change with the speed of the elevator and with the adjustment of the brake.
The CMB limit switch must be placed between the 0 stop screen and the stop 1 screen. Also the CMS limit
switch, must be placed between the upper –1 level stop screen and the upper level stop screen.
With these elevators there is, in the intermediate stops, a stop screen, a change of speed “going up” screen
and a change of speed “going down” screen. In the upper stop, there is a stop screen and a change of speed
“going up screen”. In the lower stop, there is a stop screen and a change of speed “going down” screen. The
length of the stop screens change with the speed of the elevator and with the adjustment of the brake. For the
length of the change of speed (“going up and going down”) screens, we recommend 8 cm.
The distance between the change of speed screens and the stop screens, changes with the travel which the
elevator goes in low speed.
The CMB limit switch must be placed between the 0 stop screen and the 0 stop screen change of speed
“going down”. It must be a few centimeters below the 0 stop change of speed “going down” screen, so that
the CMB limit switch will be activated (contact opened), when the detector or detectors will be deactivated
by the change of speed “going down” screen.
The CMS limit switch must be placed between the upper stop of the stop screen and the upper stop of the
change of speed “going up” screen, which must be a few centimeters over the upper stop of the change of
speed “going up” screen, so that the CMS limit switch will be activated (contact opened), when the detector
or detectors is deactivated by the change of speed “going up” screen.
22 V1.3
5.4.- V3F lift
5.4.1.- Installation
The elevator must have an stop screen at each stop. With the top and bottom detectors 5 cm apart, the screen
length must be 22 cm, except at the upper and lower stop that must be 75 cm.
At the intermediate floors, the elevator stops when both detectors (FDI/FDS) are centered in the stop screen.
However at the lower and the upper floors, the elevator stops when both detectors are located in front of the
stop screen (at the lower floor, the elevator stops when the FDS detector is located in front of the stop
screen, and at the upper floor, the elevator stops when the FDI detector is located in front of the stop screen).
CMS limit switch must be placed, momentanuously, 140 cm below the edge of the stop screen at the upper
stop.
CMB limit switch must be placed, momentanuously, 140 cm over the top edge of the stop screen at the lower
stop.
When the installation is finished must be checked that, when the up pushbutton, of the connection box, is
pressed, the small contactor KS must be activated, and the elevator goes up, if the elevator goes down, two
of the motor phases must be changed. When the previous is done, it is necessary to check that the frequency
of the elevator is the frequency programmed in the parameter C14, check the following steps:
For a correct operation of the Fuji inverter the following parameters have to be set up on site:
23 V1.3
With the Fuji inverter is necessary to do an autotuning of the motor, this is an inverter procedure which obtains
a number of motor parameters that will improve the inverter’s efficiency. This procedure must be done without
any load in the motor, therefore it is necessary to suspend the car and the counterweight, or separate the
motor of the traction machine.
In the SKM motor room less, the autotuning of the motor is initially completed at the factory, but the values of
the parameters must be checked to ensure that P06, P07 & P08, which are programmed in the Fuji frequency
converter, are the same as the values written in the adhesive paper, which is placed in the motor of the
machine.
Write the values of the parameters P06, P07 & P08 which are written in the adhesive paper, placed in the
motor of the machine. When this is completed, check these values with the values stored in the Fuji frequency
converter. To complete this, follow the following steps:
24 V1.3
- Push the “↓” key up to select the P07 parameter, and check that the value programmed in the Fuji
frequency converter is the same, as the value written in the adhesive paper placed in the motor of the
machine. If they are not the same:
- Push the “↓” key up to select the P08 parameter, and check that the value programmed in the Fuji
frequency converter is the same, as the value written in the adhesive paper placed in the motor of the
machine. If they are not the same:
After the previous steps, the control panel must do a learning trip of the shaft. In this process the control panel
calculates the height of the shaft, the heights of the suitable accelerations and decelerations. To do this, follow
the next steps:
1- The elevator goes up until the upper stop with V4 speed (slow speed)
2- The elevator stops
25 V1.3
3- The elevator accelerates (going down) until V1(which is nominal speed) is reached and then it
decelerates until V4 (which is slow speed).
4- The elevator stops
5- The elevator accelerates (going up) until the V2 speed (which is 2/3 of the nominal speed) is
reached and then it decelerates until V4 (which is slow speed).
6- The elevator stops (learning trip is ended)
After the “Adjust”, the parameter values should be checked on the display. The LCD display will show (after
each one, press “Up” key for the next). In the following table is showed all the parameters:
- Screen length: medium length of the screens, top and bottom screens are not included (units: encoder
pulses).
- Detector length: distance between FDI & FDS (units: encoder pulses).
- Speed V1: nominal speed of the elevator. This speed is used with travel lengths higher than 2m.
- Speed V2: 2/3 of the nominal speed of the elevator. This speed is used with travel lengths lower than
2m.
26 V1.3
- The CMB/CMS adjustment: distance that the CMS must be placed, below the edge of the stop
screen at the higher stop and the distance that the CMB must be placed over the top edge of the stop
screen at the lower stop.
If any of these checks is not correct the learning trip must be repeated.
Must be checked that the distance between the two consecutive nearest floors is higher than “Pulses aceler
V2”+ “Pulses decele V2”. If this is not true the learning trip must be repeated, but the speed V2 must be
reduced (parameter C17 in the Fuji inverter). In any case, the elevator will travel between these floors with
speed V4.
If, during the learning trip, when the elevator is at step one (the elevator goes up until the highest stop with V4
speed), the elevator stops and the LCD display shows “Phase error. Try again”, the learning trip must be
repeated, but the signals of the detectors should have been previously checked. (Please check that the signals
are not changed between them)
If, during the learning trip, when the elevator is at step number 3, (the elevator accelerates until V1 is reached
and then it decelerates until V4), the elevator stops and the LCD display shows “Encoder failure. Try again”,
the learning trip must be repeated, but the acceleration and deceleration must be faster. Therefore, in the Fuji
inverter the acceleration time parameter (F07), and the deceleration time parameter (F08), must be
decreased. This error means that during this step of the learning trip, the elevator is too near the bottom floor.
(ie. 2 floors installations).
Once the learning trip has been completed successfully, the results given show the distance between the CMB
and the lower screen, and the distance between CMS and the upper screen.
27 V1.3
Distance (millimetres)= “Pulsos decele V1” * d
5.4.5.- Operation
After the previous adjustment, the elevator can work in normal mode. When a call is made, follow the
process:
- Doors close
- The inverter uses DC current which stops the machine
- The brake of the machine is released.
- It calculates the speed (V1 or V2) depending on the distance between floors.
- When the elevator is arriving at level, it decelerates to V4.
- When the first detector detects the stop screen, and when the distance for the level of stop is “Pulsos
decel 0 Hz”, it decelerates to 0.

In order to get a better travel or more comfort, it is possible to change the acceleration and deceleration
parameters.
If you change any parameters, it could be necessary repeat the learning trip.
The travel which the car goes at V4 must be checked for either speeds used between floors V1 or V2. If this
travel at V4 is too long, you can reduce it by decreasing either the “Pulsos decele V1” for travels at V1 or
“Pulsos decele V2” parameters for travels at V2.
To change these parameters, select “Programming” option in the TC1 electronic board, then select the “V3F”
option and select “Show parameters”. Select the parameter and change it.
It is necessary to check the communication of the TC1 electronic board with all the terminals. To do this, we
need to select “See terminals” option, the display will show:
Dir: 0 TC2

If the display does not show TC2 or TC2 is flashing, the communications are not correct and it is necessary to
check the TC2 electronic board or its wiring.
