Menu Structure

We want to eliminate the complexity of the menu structure and simplify the presentation.
The target for this app is restaurants that generate a daily menu for their customers. Every
day a different menu is created so that the clients can enjoy a variety of dishes. The
concept is to transmit that information to the user without having to get to the restaurant.

There will be two specific formats for generating the restaurant menu:

Menu Generation Structure – OPTION 1

APP content entered directly by the restaurant.

This is where the user introduces manually the information of the restaurant’s menu via
the APP, indicating the content to be seen and the prices for the menu.

There needs to be 5 specific blocks that need to be completed in order to generate the
menu:
1. Day of the week to which the menu corresponds.
2. Starters.
3. Main course.
4. Desserts.
5. Included.
6. Prices.

Additional information.
The user will need to specify the day to which that menu corresponds. So that the
correct menu is displayed on the day in question. The user may register various menus
and assign the day to which it corresponds so that they can upload a full week menu and
each corresponding day the correct menu will appear.

With points 2,3,4 many different dishes can be registered, (1 per line). The menu
generation will grow as more dishes are registered and the structure (background) will
extend to accommodate this with a scroll.

With that information the generic menu is created

Background Structure.
The menu structure should be presented as if written on a chalkboard, (see image as
reference.

The top section of the menu as well as the bottom part should be designed so as to
permit ads to be included at a future date. (We need to include this in the admin side).

This menu will act as a background to the text structure and be constructed in the
following manner:
3 PARTS:
• TOP BANNER
• CONTENT
• BOTTOM BANNER

TOP BANNER and BOTTOM BANNER.

Standard generic menu sign with possibility to add specific artwork (image file). We
should also be able to define the use for a specific banner for all restaurants or filtered,
so as to be able to define advertising strategies and define which restaurants see which
specific banners.

CONTENT
This is the menu information specific to each restaurant and should have the following
structure:
Starters (Primer Plato – Spanish text).
Main (Segundo Plato – Spanish text).
Dessert (Postre – Spanish text)
Extras (Extras – Spanish text)
Price full menu (Precio menu completo – Spanish text)
Price half menu (Precio medio menu – Spanish text).
Menu Generation Structure – OPTION 2
The restaurant uploads an image of the menu.

This simplifies greatly the updating process for the restaurant. The APP should allow
the restaurant to simply take a picture of the actual menu and upload it to that specific
day.

This image should be placed in the “CONTENT” block allowing for the TOP and
BOTTOM banners to be independent.

On the image upload screen, the picture can be taken by the pone camera or uploaded.
The restaurant will need to specify the day to which the menu corresponds.

MENU STRUCTURE

Notifications

All registered restaurants should receive a daily notification to inform them which daily
menu is currently being displayed by the APP. This will ensure that the restaurant
updates the menu. This notification can be a push notification via the APP and also a
reminder email to the registered email account. The email should be configurable from
the admin side so as to include new notifications as well as the standard menu
notification.

The email should also offer the option to upload a menu via photograph in order to
simplify the update process.
Recommend a restaurant
This was not included in the original concept, but the idea is to be able to propose new
restaurants to the marketing team.
The user should have an option to recommend a restaurant that is not registered in the
APP. We would need a banner and several options;

By clicking the user can input the restaurant name, location, photo of the current menu
and recommended by. This information would be sent to a marketing email and they
would locate the restaurant and offer the registration.
