API Adjustable Chokes
 Used to clean up and flow test a well
 Tapered needle and seat control well rate
of flow
 Indicator sleeve reveals orifice size in
1/64” increments necessary for conversion
to equivalent positive choke
 Converts to positive choke by exchanging
adjustable bonnet assembly and seat with blanking
plug and bean
 Lubrication & vent fittings used for
general maintenance
 Adjustable chokes can be used on continual
basis to prevent damage to tree gate valves
when well is brought on and off line
 Stem, stem packing and seat can be
replaced in field
