3. Assumptions made if any, should be stated clearly at the beginning of your answer.

Q.1. Using the principles of coordination, subordination, logical ordering, phrasing and
dividing, create an effective outline for a report that investigates the negative effects of
alcoholism on the national health (physical and mental) of adults and that of families
affected by alcoholic parents. Your outline should show all the structural components of a
regular report. You should assume that you are creating a real report outline and assume
that the examiner (your audience) is reading a chapter heading, for instance. [20]

Q.2. Prepare a questionnaire (with 5 questions, 3 options for each) where you assume the
following role: As the Public Relations Officer of D.V.G.P.A. College of Arts and
Sciences, you have noticed that there is a rise in the number of thefts on campus. The
thefts of books, laptops, and miscellaneous items have dramatically increased from 2017
to 2019. You are investigating the cause of this increase. Your goal is to get ground-level
information so that you can help bring down the incidents to a manageable level and
ultimately, to make the campus a safer place to study. Your questionnaire, to be circulated
among students, should keep in mind the principles of questionnaire preparation and be
audience-oriented. [15]

Q.3. As the aggrieved Purchase & Stores Officer of TPC College of Engineering, write a
claims letter to the wholesaler of a company (Smart Classroom Solutions Pvt. Ltd.)
claiming that the 70 large-sized blackboards you had purchased for the new college
expansion plan have developed various defects before installation. You are unable to
install these defective blackboards in the various classrooms located in the new wing of
the academic building of your college. This is delaying the implementation of the college
expansion plan. You should write a “claims letter” by using the principles, format, and
style of effective “claims letter” writing. [15]
