Introduction to the Celebration

The Bishop introduces the Mass of the day.

My dear brothers and sisters,

with hearts full of gratitude and jubilation,
we gather today around the table
of the Lord’s Word and Sacrament
as his chosen people called to holiness,
sharing in the one priesthood of Jesus Christ,
and participating in Christ mission
as priest, prophet and king.
We will witness the immensity of God’s love.
Relying on the abundance of his love and grace,
we ordain our deacons to the Order of Presbyters.
Through the laying on of hands
and the invocation of the Holy Spirit,
they will be consecrated as God’s servants
and ministers of His Church,
leading his people through service

2
proclaiming his Word through his words and deeds
and celebrating the mysteries of his love.
As we join Jesus’ offering of himself to the Father,
let us pray for our dear deacons
and for all the ordained ministers of the Church.
We also celebrate today the feast of all saints of the Servite Order. May their
examples inspire us to follow Christ in humility and service. May their
intercession keep us in the path that Christ has called us to follow.

Penitential Act
Then follows the Penitential Act, to which the Bishop invites the faithful, saying:
Brethren (brothers and sisters),
let us acknowledge our sins,
and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries
A brief pause for silence follows
Then all recite together the formula of general confession:
I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
And striking their breast once, they say:
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
Then they continue:
therefore, I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
The absolution by the Bishop follows:
May almighty God have mercy on us,
forgive us our sins,
and bring us to everlasting life.
The people reply:
Amen.

The Kyrie, eleison (Lord, have mercy) invocation follows.

Lord have mercy Lord have mercy
Christ have mercy Christ have mercy
Lord have mercy Lord have mercy

3
Gloria

Collect
The Bishop, with hands joined, says
Let us pray.
And all pray in silence with the Bishop for a while. Then the Bishop, with hands extended,
says the collect prayer.

Almighty God,
graciously sustain in us the same spirit of service
that you so generously gave
to the holy men and women
of the Order of Servants of Mary.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

The people acclaim: Amen

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading 1 Corinthians. 12, 4-13

Then the reader goes to the ambo and reads the First Reading, while all sit and listen.

A reading from the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians

There are different workings but the same God

Brothers and sisters,
there are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit;
there are different forms of service
but the same Lord;
here are different workings
but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.
To each individual the manifestation of the Spirit
is given for some benefit.
To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom;
to another the expression of knowledge
according to the same Spirit;

4
to another faith by the same Spirit;
to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit;
to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy;
to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues;
to another interpretation of tongues.
But one and the same Spirit produces all of these,
distributing them individually to each person as he wishes.
As a body is one though it has many parts,
and all the parts of the body,
though many, are one body, so also Christ.

The Word of the Lord

All reply: Thanks be to God

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 99 (100), 2-5

R/. Serve the Lord with gladness

Cry out with joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Serve the Lord with gladness.
Come before him, singing for joy.

R/. Serve the Lord with gladness

Know that he, the Lord, is God.

He made us, we belong to him,
we are his people, the sheep of his flock.

R/. Serve the Lord with gladness

Go within his gates, giving thanks.

Enter his courts with songs of praise.
Give thanks to him and bless his name.

R/. Serve the Lord with gladness

Indeed, how good is the Lord,

eternal his merciful love.
He is faithful from age to age.
R/. Serve the Lord with gladness

5
Gospel Acclamation
The Alleluia follows. When the Alleluia begins, everyone but the Bishop stands.
Alleluia, alleluia.

Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

Alleluia, alleluia.

Meanwhile, if incense is used, the Bishop puts some into the thurible. After this, the Deacon who
is to proclaim the Gospel, bowing profoundly before the Bishop, asks for the blessing, saying in
a low voice:
Your blessing, Father.
Then the Bishop says in a low voice:
May the Lord be in your hearts and on your lips,
that you may proclaim his Gospel worthily and well,
in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
The Deacon signs himself with the Sign of the Cross and replies:
Amen.
The Deacon, or the Priest, then proceeds to the Ambo, accompanied by ministers with incense
and candles.

Gospel Luke 12, 22-32

Deacon: The Lord be with you.

The people reply: And with your spirit.

The Deacon: + A reading from the holy Gospel according to Saint Luke and, at the same
time, he makes the Sign of the Cross on the book and on his forehead, lips and breast.
The people acclaim: Glory to you, O Lord.
Then the Deacon, incenses the book and proclaims the Gospel.

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Saint Luke

Jesus said to his disciples,

“Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life
and what you will eat,
or about your body and what you will wear.
For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
Notice the ravens: they do not sow or reap;

6
they have neither storehouse nor barn,
yet God feeds them.
How much more important are you than birds!
Can any of you by worrying add a moment to your lifespan?
If even the smallest things are beyond your control,
why are you anxious about the rest?
Notice how the flowers grow.
They do not toil or spin.
But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor
was dressed like one of them.
If God so clothes the grass in the field
that grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow,
will he not much more provide for you,
O you of little faith?
As for you, do not seek what you are to eat
and what you are to drink, and do not worry anymore.
All the nations of the world seek for these things,
and your Father knows that you need them.
Instead, seek his kingdom,
and these other things will be given you besides.
Do not be afraid any longer, little flock,
for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom

At the end of the Gospel, the Deacon, or the Priest, acclaims:

The Gospel of the Lord.

All reply: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

The commentator says: Please remain standing and make the sign of the cross as the Bishop
blesses us with the Book of the Gospels.

The Book of the Gospels is brought to the Bishop. Then he kisses the book, saying quietly:
Through the words of the Gospel may our sins be wiped away.
He then takes it and uses it to make a sign of the cross over the people.

The commentator says: Please be seated.

7

on these, his servants,

that those whom in the sight of your mercy we offer to be consecrated,
may be surrounded by Your rich and unfailing gifts.
Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

The Deacon says: Let us stand

The commentator says:

We come now to the most solemn part of the Rite of Ordination, the Laying on of Hands and the
Prayer of Ordination. Through the imposition of Hands of the Bishop, and the Prayer of
Ordination, the candidates will be ordained priests, and will share in the ministry by which Christ
himself builds up, sanctifies, and rules His Church.
Please remain standing in prayerful silence.

12
LAYING ON OF HANDS
130. The Bishop lays his hands upon the head of the elect, without saying anything. After the
Bishop has laid on his hands, all priest present, wearing stoles, lay hands on each of the elct,
without saying anything. After the laying on of hands, the priests remain alongside the Bishop
until the end of the Prayer of Ordination.

PRAYER OF ORDINATION
207. With the elect kneeling before him, the Bishop puts aside the miter, and, with hands
extended, he sings or says the Prayer of Ordination

Draw near, O Lord, Holy Father,

Almighty and Eternal God,
author of human dignity:
it is you who apportion all graces.
Through you all everything progresses,
through you all things are made to stand firm.
To form a priestly people
you appoint minsters of Christ Your Son
by the power of the Holy Spirit,
arranging them in different orders.

Already in the earlier covenant offices arose,

established through mystical rites:
when You set Moses and Aaron
over Your people to govern and sanctify them,
You chose men next in rank and dignity
to accompany them
and assist thein in their task.

So too in the desert,

You implanted the spirit of Moses
in the hearts of seventy wise men;
and with their help he ruled Your people
with great ease.

So also upon the sons of Aaron

13
You poured an abundant share
of their father’s plenty,
that the number of priests
prescribed by the Law
might be sufficient for the sacrifices
of the tabernacle,
which were a shadow of the good things to come.
But in these last days, holy Father,
You sent Your into the world,
Jesus, who is Apostle and High Priest
of our confession.
Through the Holy Spirit,
He offered Himself to you as a spotless victim;
and He made His Apostles,
consecrated in the truth,
shares in the mission.
You provided them also with companions
to proclaim and carry out
the work of salvation
throughout the whole world.

And now we beseech You, Lord,

in our weakness, to grant us these helpers
that we need to exercise the priesthood that comes
from the Apostles.

Grant, we pray, Almighty Father,

to these your servants the dignity of
the Priesthood;
renew deep within them
the Spirit of holiness;
may they henceforth possess this office,
which comes from you, O God,
and is next in rank to the office of Bishop;
and by the example of their manner of life,
14
may they instill right conduct.

May they be worthy co-worker

with our Order, so that by their preaching
and through the grace of the Holy Spirit
these words of the Gospel may bear fruit
in human hearts and reach even to
the ends of the earth.

Together with us,

may they be faithful stewards of
Your mysteries, so that Your people may be
renewed in the waters of rebirth
and nourished from Your altar;
So that sinners may be reconciled
and the sick raised up.
May they be joined with us, Lord,
in imploring Your mercy
for the people entrusted to their care
and for all the world.

And so may the full number of the nations,

gathered together in Christ,
be transformed into Your one people
and made perfect in Your Kingdom.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son.
who lives and reigns with You in the unity
of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

The people sing. Amen.

15
INVESTITURE WITH STOLE AND CHAUSABLE

The commentator says: The new priests will now be vested with the stole and chasuble, symbols
of their ministry in the midst of the people of God. By this investiture, the ministry that the
newly ordained will henceforth fulfill in the Liturgy is outwardly manifested.
208. After the Prayer of Ordination, all sit. The Bishop puts on the miter sits and each of the
newly ordained stands. The assisting priest return to their places, but one of them arranges the
stole and the chasuble of each of the newly ordained in the manner proper to priests.

Anointing of the Hands

133. Next, the Bishop receives a line gremial and anoints with holy chrism the palms of each
new priest as he kneels before him. The Bishop says:

The Lord Jesus Christ,

whom the Father anointed with the Holy Spirit and power,
guard and preserve you
that you may sanctify the Christian people
and offer sacrifices to God.

Then the bishop and newly ordained wash their hands

Presentation of the Bread and Wine

135. The parents of the newly ordained present to the bishop the paten with bread and the chalice
with wine mixed with water for the celebration of the Mass.
A deacon receives them and brings them to the Bishop, who places them in the hand of the
newly Ordained as he kneels before him.

Receive the oblation of the holy people,

to be offered to God.
Understand what you do,
imitate what you celebrate,
and conform your life to the mystery of the Lord’s Cross.

Kiss of Peace
211. Lastly, the Bishop gives each of the newly ordained Deacons the fraternal kiss saying:
Peace be with you.
The newly ordained responds: And with your spirit
All the priests present give fraternal kiss to the newly ordained priests. Likewise, all priests
present give the fraternal kiss to each of the newly ordained priests as a sign of their being joined
in the Order of Presbyters. After the fraternal kiss, each of the newly ordained go to the place
prepared for them.

16
THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST
When all this has been done, the Offertory Chant begins. Meanwhile, the minsters place the
corporal, the pacificator, the chalice, the pall, and the Missal on the altar.
Offertory Song:

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS

Then the Presider, with hands extended, says the Prayer over the Offerings:
Exalting with joy, Lord,
we hasten to your altar with sacrificial gifts.
With confidence, we ask
that this feast of All Saints of the Servite Order
may bring widespread happiness
and full health to all.
Through Christ our Lord.

The people acclaim: Amen.

PREFACE
Extending his hands,
The Bishop says: The Lord be with you.
The people reply: And with your spirit.

The Bishop: Lift up your hearts.

The people: We lift them up to the Lord.

The Bishop: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

The people: It is right and just.

It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation

always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ our Lord,
as we celebrate today the solemn feast of our blessed saints.

One in mind and heart,

with eyes fixed on the Virgin Mary,
they served you, O Lord, and all people,
in humility and charity.

Therefore, Father, we praise you

17
for the wonders you have worked in them,
and we strive to follow
their example of communal life.
With the help of their intercession
we hope to reach the eternal city.

And therefore, with them and all the Angels and Archangels,
We praise you for ever as we gladly acclaim:

At the end of the Preface he joins his hands and concludes the Preface with the people, singing or
saying aloud:
(Santo)

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER III

108. The Presider, with hands extended, says:

You are indeed Holy, O Lord,

and all you have created rightly gives you praise,
for through your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,
by the power and working of the Holy Spirit,
you give life to all things and make them holy,
and you never cease to gather a people to yourself,
so that from the rising of the sun to its setting
a pure sacrifice may be offered to your name.

109. He joins his hands and, holding them extended over the offerings, says:

Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore you:

by the same Spirit graciously make holy
these gifts we have brought to you for consecration,

He joins his hands and makes the Sign of the Cross once over the bread and chalice together,
saying:

that they may become the Body and + Blood

of your Son our Lord Jesus Christ,

He joins his hands.

at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.

18
110. In the formulas that follow, the words of the Lord should be pronounced clearly and
distinctly, as the nature of these words requires.

For on the night he was betrayed

He takes the bread and, holding it slightly raised above the altar, continues:

he himself took bread,

and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,
broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying:

He bows slightly.

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT,

FOR THIS IS MY BODY,
WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
He shows the consecrated host to the people, places it again on the paten, and genuflects in
adoration.

111. After this, he continues:

In a similar way, when supper was ended,

He takes the chalice and, holding it slightly raised above the altar, continues:

he took the chalice,

and, giving you thanks, he said the blessing,
and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

He bows slightly.

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,

FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY
FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.

19
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.
He shows the chalice to the people, places it on the corporal, and genuflects in adoration.

112. Then he says: celebrant alone

The mystery of faith.

And the people continue, acclaiming:

We proclaim your Death, O Lord,

and profess your Resurrection
until you come again.

Then the Priest, with hands extended, says: celebrants with

concelebrants

Therefore, O Lord,
as we celebrate the memorial
of the saving Passion of your Son,
his wondrous Resurrection
and Ascension into heaven,
and as we look forward to his second coming,
we offer you in thanksgiving
this holy and living sacrifice.

Look, we pray,
upon the oblation of your Church
and, recognizing the sacrificial Victim
by whose death you willed to reconcile us to yourself,
grant that we,
who are nourished by the Body and Blood of your Son
and filled with his Holy Spirit,
may become one body, one spirit in Christ.

May he make of us concelebrant I

an eternal offering to you,
so that we may obtain an inheritance with your elect,
especially with the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
with blessed Joseph, her Spouse,
with your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs

20
(with the Seven Holy Founders, Saint St. Peregrine)
and with all the Saints,
on whose constant intercession in your presence
we rely for unfailing help.

Fr. Ricky:
May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation, concelebrant
II
we pray, O Lord,
advance the peace and salvation of all the world.
Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity
your pilgrim Church on earth,
with your servant Francis our Pope
and Jesse our Bishop with the Order of Bishops
these your servant, who have been ordained today as Priests for the Church,
all the clergy,
and the entire people you have gained for your own.

Fr. Ryan:
Listen graciously to the prayers of this family,
whom you have summoned before you:
in your compassion, O merciful Father,
gather to yourself all your children
scattered throughout the world.

† To our departed brothers and sisters concelebrant

III
and to all who were pleasing to you
at their passing from this life,
give kind admittance to your kingdom.
There we hope to enjoy for ever
the fullness of your glory

He joins his hands.

through Christ our Lord,

through whom you bestow on the world all that is good. †

The Bishop takes the chalice and the paten with the host and, raising both, he says:

21
Through him, and with him, and in him,
O God, almighty Father,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory and honor is yours,
for ever and ever.

The people acclaim: Amen.

The Communion Rite

(Roman Missal)
Communion Song:

Prayer after Communion

Then, standing at the altar or at the chair and facing the people, with hands joined, the Bishop
says:
Let us Pray.
All pray in silence with the Bishop for a while, unless silence has just been observed. Then the
Bishop, with hands extended, says the Prayer after Communion:

We beseech you, Lord our God,

that this heavenly banquet
and the example and prayers
of All Saints of the Servite Order
may nourish in us
the desire to be faithful servants of the Blessed Virgin.
Through Christ our Lord.

The people acclaim: Amen

The commentator says: Please all be seated as we now listen to some words of thanks from Rev.
Fr. …
After the final blessing, and after the newly ordained Priests pays homage to the Virgin Mary,
there will be a pictorial with the newly ordained priests.

The order of the pictorial will be as follows:

1. The Bishop and the Newly Ordained

2. The Bishop, the Clergy, and the Newly Ordained
3. The Bishop, the Newly Ordained and the Family
4. The Bishop, the Newly Ordained and the Servite Family
5. The Newly Ordained and all Friends and Relatives.
After which, there will be the kissing of hands of the newly ordained priests which were anointed
with Holy Oil. This is a sign of reverence to Christ who consecrates the priest’s hands.

22
Please all stand for the concluding rites.

THE CONCLUDING RITES

Then the dismissal takes place. The Bishop, facing the people and extending his hands, says:
The Lord be with you.
The people reply:
And with your spirit
The Deacon says the invitation:
Bow down for the blessing.
Then, the Bishop, with hands extended over the newly ordained Deacons and the people, gives
the blessing;

May God, who founded the Church and guides her still,
