Dear Friends,

We bring Christian greetings from Uganda and most especially from our family. These
are hard times that have hit the world over. The Lord has been so good to us during
this global Covid 19 pandemic. We want to express our gratitude to you as friends and
partners with us in the ministries we are part of here in Uganda. When the current global
issue broke up, we wondered how we would go through it. The Lord strengthened us in
ways above our human fears. We have been encouraged by your consistence in being
part of our lives even though the whole world is facing the same challenges of the
deadly virus. You have continued to not only pray for us but also taking care of our
normal support and even giving towards the suffering children in our communities. This
has been a great encouragement to us. We have not lacked as we had
anticipated. The Lord is full of surprises and these times have strengthened our faith to
trust the Lord even more than ever before.
You may wonder what we have been doing all this time during the lockdown in our
country.
1. We have been ministering to the congregation through various ways; praying,
sharing food with the neediest in our church and community, and live streaming
Sunday services to those who have the ability to own a smartphone. The Lord
has used this to connect us to a wider audience more than we have ever realized
before. You can open on YouTube “Zana Community Church for more
information. So, the Gospel has not been on a lockdown but being preached
every week. This reminds us of Paul reference to his sufferings and chains in 2
Tim. 2:9 … But the word of God is not bound! We continue to proclaim it using a
different mode. Thank God for the technology in place.

2. We have been actively involved on the farm in Kamengo and used the
harvest to take care of some needs in the church and some of our WCIU staff.
Allen and I spend several days on the farm working keeping our lives busy and
return toward the weekend to prepare for Sunday live streaming. In His amazing
providence our pickup truck was cleared to move throughout the strictest
lockdown requirements; providing an opportunity for us to bring supplies back to
Zana every weekend from the village.

3. The Lord also provided funding to do some finishing construction work on the
High school building during this lockdown. That was an appropriate time to do
the dirty work without the students on campus.
We have continued to see Romans 8:28 real during these times. As the world laments
of course we all grieve with those who grieve, we take heart knowing well that there is
nothing that is not under the sovereign control of our God and Father.
Prayers requests:
a. That the government will easy the lockdown requirements because people
are in dire need especially those who live on daily earnings.
b. For the schools to reopen otherwise it is more costly for us to reach these
kids in their homes especially those in our feeding program who benefit from the
school feeding program.

c. Westminster Institute to continue thriving even during these hard

times. Government is requiring us to design distance learning materials/
booklets to enable our students’ study in their homes or countries. Secondly that
we may acquire the resources to develop e-Learning tools and systems in place.
Thank you for loving us and always keeping us in your minds.
May the good Lord continue to bless you always.

Emma & Allen Kiwanuka
