Document Use
Use the following instructions to install the IEB UPS. These instructions only apply to Mac-Lab®/
CardioLab® systems that require an IEB UPS installation.

UPS Set Up Instructions
Install the IEB UPS on 100V Systems and on 120V Systems
Use the following procedure to install the current IEB UPS with a Powercom 1500VA UPS.

WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD

Do not remove equipment covers or otherwise work on equipment unless it is

de-energized. Ensure all equipment is de-energized and unplugged before
proceeding.

1. Shut down the Mac-Lab/CardioLab computer connected to the IEB.

2. Unplug the main power cord and turn off both power switches on the IEB and the UPS.

Refer to the Mac-Lab/CardioLab/Centricity Cardiology INW Server System Service Manual

for switch locations and detailed disassembly instructions.

3. Place the Powercom UPS from the kit on a level surface near the IEB.

4. Connect the PN 2003927-001 IEC to IEC cable to the UPS.

5. Connect the other end of the PN 2003927-001 IEC to IEC cable to the IEB power receptacle
labeled 'UPS Power to Comp'.

6. Connect the appropriate end of PN 80274-006 for 120V or PN 405535-013 for 100V power
cord to a UPS output power receptacle (refer to the previous figure).

7. Connect the other end of the power cord PN 80274-006 for 120V or PN 405535-013 for 100V
from the UPS into the HP Computer.

8. Turn on both IEB power switches and turn on the UPS.

9. Start up the Mac-Lab/CardioLab computer.

10. Log on to the Mac-Lab/CardioLab Custom Shell as local mlcluser.

11. Test the unit by turning off the main power switch on the rear of the IEB for 10 seconds.

12. Verify power to the computer is not interrupted and the computer power LED is still green.

13. Verify the UPS is emitting audible beeps.

14. Return power to the IEB by turning on the main power switch on the rear of the IEB.

15. Verify the UPS is no longer emitting audible beeps.

16. Verify power to the computer was not interrupted by verifying the computer is still logged on
to the Mac-Lab/CardioLab Custom Shell.

17. If the verification steps above do not execute successfully, contact Tech Support.

Install the IEB UPS on 240V Systems
Use the following procedure to install the current IEB UPS with a Powercom 1500VA UPS.

WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD

Do not remove equipment covers or otherwise work on equipment unless it is

de-energized. Ensure all equipment is de-energized and unplugged before
proceeding.

1. Shut down the Mac-Lab/CardioLab computer connected to the IEB.

2. Unplug the main power cord and turn off both power switches on the IEB and the UPS.

for switch locations and detailed disassembly instructions.

3. Place the Powercom UPS from the kit on a level surface near the IEB.

4. Connect the IEC to IEC Cable PN 2003927-001 to the UPS.

5. Connect the other end of the PN 2003927-001 IEC to IEC cable to the IEB power receptacle
labeled 'UPS Power to Comp'.

6. Connect the appropriate end of the PN 2003927-001 power cord to a UPS output power
receptacle (refer to the previous figure).

CAUTION: POWER OUTAGE

The white UPS output power receptacle labeled “BYPASS OUTLET” does not
supply battery backup power in the event of a power outage. Do not use the
BYPASS OUTLET power receptacle. The HP computer must be plugged into
one of the UPS output receptacles to ensure that power is maintained to the
computer during a power outage.

7. Connect the other end of the PN 2003927-001 power cord to the HP Computer.

8. Turn on both IEB power switches and turn on the UPS.

9. Start up the Mac-Lab/CardioLab computer.

10. Log on to the Mac-Lab/CardioLab Custom Shell as local mlcluser.

11. Test the unit by turning off the main power switch on the rear of the IEB for 10 seconds.

12. Verify power to the computer is not interrupted and the computer power LED is still green.

13. Verify the UPS is emitting audible beeps.

14. Return power to the IEB by turning on the main power switch on the rear of the IEB.

15. Verify the UPS is no longer emitting audible beeps.

16. Verify power to the computer was not interrupted by verifying the computer is still logged on
to the Mac-Lab/CardioLab Custom Shell.

17. If the verification steps above do not execute successfully, contact Tech Support.
