INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING THE ONLINE APPLICATION TO PGPEM 2020 BATCH

A.General Instructions:

1. Help text is readily available in the concerned section of the online application.
2. For the application to be complete all the necessary documents have to be uploaded in the
respective sections.
3. A BLUE TICK mark appears across respective sections in the opening menu to indicate that, the
section is completed.
4. You need to save and submit the application form on or before the stipulated due date.
5. Application once submitted cannot be edited/changed. Hence preview the application using the
‘preview Application’ tab before you submit the application.
6. Download and retain a copy of application after successful submission.

B. Instructions relating to individual sections of the online application:

Biographic Details :

Last Name : Providing ‘Last Name’ in the application is optional. If you have not specified the last name
the text box shows as “No Last Name”.

Preferred Full Name: The name given under this text box will be used on all official transcripts. Hence it
is recommended to be cautious while filling.

Category: If you wish to identify as belonging to a socially backward community (SC/ST/NC-OBC) or EWS
category, then choose the appropriate category from the list. If you do not wish to share the category,
choose “undeclared” under Category dropdown.

You are required to upload the relevant certificate in the “SOP & Other uploads” section for category
other than ‘General’ or ‘undeclared’. If you are a person with disability, then the relevant disability
certificate should be uploaded.

Religion: Choose appropriate religion from the list. If you do not wish to share the religion, choose
“undeclared” under Religion dropdown.

Please note that information such as Religion, Annual Family Income from all sources, Father's Highest
Qualification, Mother's Highest Qualification are captured purely for understanding the overall
applicant pool and has no bearing in the admission decisions.

Photograph -Upload your passport size photograph which meets the following requirements:

1. Should be a head and shoulders colour photograph of good quality in with a white/off white
background.
2. Dimension: 2"x 2”.
3. Resolution: Min 600 x 600 pixels, Max 1200 x 1200 pixels.
4. File Formats Supported: JPEG & JPG.
5. Maximum file size: 1 MB.
Once you upload the photograph, it will appear on the biographic details page after you have clicked
on 'Save' button.
DO NOT UPLOAD PHOTOS CAPTURED USING MOBILE / WEBCAM.

Contact Details:

If your country does not feature in the 'Country' drop down, select 'Others' and enter your Country &
State in the corresponding 'Others' box. If your current address is same as permanent address, you can
click on 'Same as current address' box.

Academic Scores:

Class 10/SSC:

Board Name -If your Board Name is not listed in the dropdown list, select 'Others' for the State and then
select 'Others' for the Board and enter the board name.

Major Subjects - Mention all the subjects that appear on the marks sheet.

Final Marks (%) -Consider all the marks obtained in all the subjects to calculate the final percentage of
marks, even if some of the subjects are not counted by your board. If you have a grade/CGPA, enter
equivalent percentage of marks using the procedure/scheme certified by your board. Final marks will
be rounded to two decimal places.

Upload your Class 10/SSC Score Sheet in this section along with the conversion formula certified by the
concerned board by consolidating into a single PDF (Max. File Size : 1 MB).

Class 11/12/HSC/PUC:

Board Name -If your Board Name is not listed in the dropdown list, select 'Others' for the State and then
select 'Others' for the Board and enter the board name.

Major Subjects - Mention all the subjects that appear on the marks sheet.

Final Marks(%) -Consider all the marks obtained in all the subjects to calculate the final percentage of
marks, even if some of the subjects are not counted by your board. If you have a grade/CGPA, enter

certified by the concerned board by consolidating into a single PDF (Max. File Size : 1 MB).
University Level:

Details of each degree level qualification must to be entered.

If you have completed 'Integrated Masters degree' enter the first 3 years details under 'Bachelors
Degree level' and next 2 years details under 'Masters Degree level'.

If your Degree name does not feature in the Degree level dropdown list, select 'Other Degrees'. Select
'Others' in the 'Degree Name' and mention it in the 'Others' box. Alternatively, if your University Name /
University type does not feature in the list, select 'Others' and mention it in the 'Others' box.

Specialization - Specialization is your areas of study in the degree mentioned. Examples of Specialization
are : Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Economics etc. Please do not enter every subject
you studied in all the years of your degree course.

Final Marks (%): Enter the percentage of marks obtained. If you have a grade/CGPA, conversion of
grades/CGPA to percentage of marks should be based on the procedure/scheme certified by your
university/institution. In case there is no conversion formula prescribed by the university then
calculate the percentage by dividing your grade/CGPA by maximum grade/CGPA and multiplying the
result by 100. Final marks will be rounded to two decimal places.

Provide detailed scores for each degree entered. You can do this by clicking on 'Enter/Update Detail
scores' link. For each degree entered, upload respective semester/year/term score sheets, degree
award certificate along with the conversion formula certified by the concerned university by
consolidating into a single PDF (Max. File Size : 1 MB).

You can remove / update / view existing degree details. Click on the 'Degree Level' link for updating
Degree details. You can also update / view detailed percentage scores by clicking 'Enter / Update Detail
Scores'. When you 'Remove' a degree, respective detail percentage scores will also be removed.

Work Experience:

Part time /Project /internship /article ship /Pre-graduation work experience are not considered as
work experience and ensure that the work experience period does not overlap with the period of
graduation.

Job progression / multiple designations within a company should be entered as a single work
experience. The designation should be the last designation held within the company for a single tenure.

Roles & Responsibilities - Describe your job responsibilities and your achievements at your work place,
in approximately 200 words.

PGPEM requires applicants to have completed 4 years of full time work experience (as on March 31,
2020) after completion of graduation. For eg. If admission is sought for an academic year, candidate
should have completed 4 years’ experience as on the start of Academic year (i.e. March 31, 2020).

For each work experience entered, upload corresponding certificate. If this is not available, upload the
first and last salary slips consolidated into a single PDF (Max. File Size : 1 MB).
DO NOT UPLOAD PASSWORD PROTECTED FILE. In case your PDF is password/read protected, ensure
that you remove the password / read restriction before uploading file.

References: (Required at the PI/WAT selection stage)

Provide contact details of two referees who can write about your abilities and achievements.

You are required to enter the details of the referee and save. Once you have saved the referee details,
you must click on 'Send E-mail to referee requesting reference' to each referee to initiate an email
communication to the referee. Your referee should provide the online reference within the due date
without which you cannot appear for PI/WAT process.

You can correct / update the email id of a referee if reference has not yet been received, by Clicking on
the Referee Name Link. Upon ‘Save’, the original link will be invalidated and the same will be
communicated to the referee.

You can resend e-mail to a referee by deleting the referee details completely using the ‘Delete’ option
on the References page. Re-enter the same details for the referee and save. The ‘Send E-mail to Referee
requesting reference’ link will be activated again.

You can replace a referee completely if reference has not yet been received, by deleting the original
referee and adding the new referee. Upon ‘Save’, the original link will be invalidated and the same will
be communicated to the referee.

You are allowed up to 10 changes to referee details. You will receive an email communication upon
receipt of the references. Please inform your referees about reference seeking mails originating from
pgpemadm@iimb.ac.in. This is to avoid the e-mail from landing in their SPAM mail folder. If your
referees are not able to access 'Online reference' page, please ask them to seek help from the System /
Network administrator of their Organization in case of any possible firewall restrictions.

Test Scores:

Note : Please enter either CAT/GMAT/GRE score which should be considered for Admission process.
Alternatively, candidates can choose IIMB test if you have not taken CAT/GRE/GMAT exam.

GMAT/ GRE scores taken between January 16, 2015 and January 16, 2020 will only be considered.
Applicants who are applying with CAT score should apply with CAT-2019 score only.

You can send GMAT/GRE scores directly to IIMB by using code : GMAT Code : Q9H-KK-32 ; GRE Code :
1681

If you have not received the Official score card at the time of applying, you may submit the test taker
copy. However, you are required to produce the official score card during the interviews.

Upload your GMAT/GRE Score sheet in PDF format in this section (Max. File Size : 1 MB).
Additional Information:

If you choose an option 'Yes' for 'Have you been associated with us earlier' then enter the appropriate
program name. Sample program names are PGP, EPGP, EEP and so on. The academic year is the year in
which you enrolled for the program.

Statement of Purpose:

Upload Statement of Purpose (SOP) in PDF format in this section (Max. File Size : 1 MB)

SOP should be an essay of 800 words with focus on the following points:

How do you see the PGPEM helping you in your goals? (150 words)
How would the PGPEM classroom benefit by your presence? (150 words)
What are two major achievements in your career? (150 words)
What is major shortcoming you wish to discuss ?
What have you learned from it ? (150 words)
What is one issue dear to you ? How do you see it resolved ? (200 words)

Pay Application Fee:

Application Fee must be paid through payment gateway only.

The application fee is Rs. 1500/- for candidates applying with CAT2020/ GRE/GMAT Test score and
Rs.2500/- if you are opting for 'IIMB Test'.

“Test Option” cannot be changed after making the payment. Ensure that you choose correct choice of
TEST, before you proceed to make the application fee payment.

Application fee paid is Non- Refundable

Interview Preference:

Choose the interview location.
