Intended Goals/ Objectives of the Subject:

Students are introduced to the management of an organization's workforce through the design and implementation of effective human resources policies and procedures.
Current Philippine issues and practices are examined. Topics include the need for human resources management and its growing professionalism; human resource planning
including job design and analysis; recruitment and selection; compensation; employee development; workplace health and safety; and employee relations. This course examines
the role of the human resource professional as a strategic partner in managing today’s organizations. Key functions such as recruitment, selection, development, appraisal,
retention, compensation, and labor relations are examined. Implications of legal and global environments are appraised and current issues such as diversity training, sexual
harassment policies, and rising benefit costs are analyzed. Best practices of employers of choice are considered.
