ROLES OF QA/QC MANAGER

I. QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. Preparing, Updating QMS manual as per latest standard requirement and provide
training to all Top management and staffs.
2. Control of Documents through proper distribution to all departments.
3. Arrive Quality Objectives, KPIs, SWOT & Risk register for yearly basis.
4. Prepare Internal / External audit schedule & Perform all internal and external audits
twice a year on behalf of the company management.

5. Prepare Nonconformance reports based on Internal & external audits and Monitor the
disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.

6. Monitor & collect data for the achievement of Quality Objectives, KPIs, SWOT & Risk
register.

7. Conduct Management review meeting every year before Surveillance/renewal audit by


Certification Body.

8. Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the Quality management system.


Recommend and implement improvements when required.

9. Provide training on weak areas and monitor the performance.

II PROJECT QUALITY ASSURANCE


1. Prepare Project Quality Plan as per project specification and Code requirements.

2. Identify KPIs and target plans to achieve.

3. Arrive Project deliverables ( PQP, Drawings, ITP, WPS,PQR, WPQ, Method Statements,
Work Instructions, QC Dossier, As Built Drawings, etc.. ).

4. Review the project scope of work, to determine the nature, extent and frequency of
quality verification activities and lead, participate in assigned quality verification
activities.
5. Participate in QA assessments, audits and verifications on the Engineering,
procurement, construction and quality processes.

6. Monitor the performance of Project through Internal audits, collection of Data, regular
meetings.

7. Identify the training requirements during the audits, personal interactions and individual
performance reports and provide training.

8. Summarize Project Complaint Register and action plan to close all customer complaints.

9. Prepare and submit the Project performance report to Top management.

III PROJECT QUALITY CONTROL

1. Plan and implement quality requirements during execution of the project through the
stages of engineering, procurement of services / materials, construction, pre-
commissioning /commissioning and hand over.

2. The preparation and control of project quality system management documentation


prior to project commencement.

3. Review the Technical Delivery Condition ( TDC ) w.r.t Approved drawings, specifications

4. Review and approve the Purchase requisitions w.r.t Approved drawings, specifications.

5. Prepare Purchase order Quality requirements for QA / QC elements (Documentation,


Certifications, regulatory requirements etc.) for sub-contractor and suppliers.

6. Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans for each job.

7. Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements

8. Raise Technical queries with clients and get resolved.

9. Issue Non-conformance reports, Summarize the Product NCR’s during execution and
take remedial action to control all non-conformities.

10. Summarize the Rejection Log and arrive the cost of rejection/rework.

11. Participate in QA assessments, audits and verifications during project execution.


12. Coordinate with Clients / AI / AIS / Third Parties for stage inspections, NDT, PWHT,
hydro test, Painting inspections etc…

13. Coordinate with QC Engineers for preparation of Test packages, QC Dossiers etc…

IV WELDING
1. Monitor the List of WPS, PQR & Welder Qualifications.

2. Update the WPS according to the latest Code (ASME, AWS, etc...) requirements.

3. Review the drawings and specification and list out new WPS / PQR / WPQ requirements if
any.

4. Ensure welding procedures, welders, welding operators are qualified in accordance with
ASME Section IX, AWS, applicable Class (LR, DNV GL, etc.) or other contract
requirements.

5. Identify the welders on qualitative / quantitative performance basis and provide


additional training.

6. Develop multi process / position welders to minimize the resource and reduce the idle
hours.

7. Monitor the renewal of welder qualifications based on their performance.

8. Supporting QC Engineers in preparation of Weld Map, NDT, Weld summary &


traceability.

9. Supporting Production in welding process improvements.

10. Develop in house Welding Engineers, NDT technicians.

11. Prepare the performance of welding job wise.
