Based on the reading/video answer the following questions

A. What is the purpose of a generator?

The purpose of a generator is a machine that changes kinetic energy or other forms of
energy into electrical energy.
B. List the components of a generator.
Armature, Rectangular coil, Iron core, Shaft, Field magnet, Concave poles, Slip rings(S1
& S2), brushes (B1 & B2), Load(Galvanometer).

What is the purpose of a motor?

The purpose of an electric motor is to change electric power into motions. It isn’t alternating
current, is direct current. So, it flows in only one direction.
List the components of a motor.
Coil, Commutator, Permanent magnet, Cone, Electrical signals, Cone vibrates.
3) compare motors and generators.
So first, a motor is DC, which only flows in one direction, but a generator is AC, which flows in each
direction. And also DC power is taken from the battery. Generator from another form of energy.

Motors Generators

Takes (input) electric moment

Produces (output) moment electric

Type of current related to Motors is using batteries, and Generator is like the lights, and
(A/C or D/C) batteries is one directions, so is it lights up because it is used by
DC an electric plug. So is AC

Fleming hand rule (left or Right hand Left hand

right)

4) Explain the Fleming's hand rule.

5) In a generator, a wire is placed in a magnetic field. Under what conditions is the electricity
generated?

6) How can you increase the size of the voltage induced in a generator?

7) Answer the question purposed in the picture.

8) what is the difference between induction and conduction?

Conduction allows the charging of a neutral body w ith a charged body by forming a direct
contact with it. But induction is the process of charging a neutral body by a charged body
without making any direct contact.
