PROFILE

Al Kuhaimi Metal Industries Ltd (KMI) was founded in

Dammam, Saudi Arabia, in 1975, with the purpose of 1975
meeting the growing demand for engineered metal products.
The Company’s main interest is in the manufacturing variety
of engineered metal products which include metal doors for
special uses in industrial, security and military applications,
and for other uses of specialized nature. ٍ
The Company has been providing its products since many
years for governmental projects in Saudi Arabia, in the Gulf
ٍ
and in other countries. We are also approved vendors for
many of the large institutions that belong to the governments
and or to the private sectors in the Middle East.
We are confident to say that we have gained the trust of
our clients by providing them with integrated solutions that
satisfy their needs from manufactured metallic products, and
services in the security and safety sectors, and in the other
fields, which our staff in engineering, manufacturing, project
management, or supply, in addition to the after sale service
have guaranteed that trust.

The Company has more than 700 employees of skilled force

in four factories having an overall area of 60,000 square
meters. The first factory is equipped to produce high-
precision sheet metal products including hollow metal doors. ّ َْ ّ
While the second factory is specialized in producing industrial
doors of rolling and sectional types, plus other mechanical ُ ْ
products. The third factory is specialized in producing heavy
steel products such as blast-resistant doors, bullet-resistant
doors, parametric fences and gates that are crash rated,
in addition to general heavy metal fabrications. Our fourth
factory is our latest addition to the group of factories and

consists of powder coating line.

Headquartered in Dammam, the Company has branches

in Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Beirut and Cairo;
moreover we have distributors in several areas in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as in other Gulf countries,
and in the Middle East.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

The Anti- Vehicle Fence calss 1 KEM-FP1 is the best solution

for securing perimeters of critical infrastructure or hi-security
facilities from attacks using vehicle or trucks.

The fence is capable of stopping 6.8 tons weight vehicle

traveling with a speed of nominal velocity 80kh/Hr with less
than one meter penetration. The fence M50-P1 rating
certification in accordance with the latest version of ASTM
F2656 standard test. CONSTRUCTION AND FEATURES

The design offers minimal destruction and quick repairs to
the fence in case of crash attack.
RATING AND TEST STANDARD
Fence is M50-P1 rated as per ASTM F2656 and fully complies
with (HCIS) Higher Commission for Industrial Security
directives.
The fence is constructed mainly from steel tubes and steel
components. Its main design features is the (10M) free span
with no intermediate posts. In addition to this largest free
span in the market, the relatively smaller footing foundation
means lower costs of civil works and faster installation.
The fence is available in standard finish of hot-dip
galvanized (HDG) as per ASTM A123 and other finishes on
demand.

QUALITY CONTROL AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

The product is manufactured in KEMI plant in Dammam,

Saudi Arabia. This plant is specialized in high quality steel
products for security and safety applications.
The conformity of the product to the tested one is assured
through the strict QC policy that received approval from
major local and international clients such as SAUDI
ARAMCO, SABIC, SEC, MODA, RC, BECHTEL, FLUOR, KOC, Etc.
The plant is certified by ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

The A-1 AKAT PRO 6 Delay Fence weld-mesh panels are produced by electrical resistance welded Galvanized
wires, with RHS Tubes and Flat Bars being welded for the delay fencing system.

1. A1 AKAT PRO 6 Weld-Mesh Panel

1.1. Panel Components and Tolerances

● Core diameter of the horizontal galvanized wire: 3mm ±0.07mm,
● Core diameter of the vertical galvanized wire: 3mm ±0.07mm,
● Panels are further reinforced by RHS Tubes filled with Fire Retardant Abrasive Material, and Steel
flats.
Wire tolerances are in accordance with EN 10218-2 T-1.
1.2. Tensile Strength of the Wire
● Vertical wires: Minimum 550N/mm2
● Horizontal wires: Minimum 550N/mm2
1.3.Mesh Sizes and Tolerances
Mesh spacing is measured between the centres of two adjacent wires having the same spatial
alignment; alternatively, the measurement can be made between two
leading edges of wire.

● Distance between the horizontal wires: 12.7mm ±2.0mm,
● Distance between the vertical wires: 76.2mm ±3.0mm,

1.4. Dimensions of mesh panel

1.5.Welding Strength
● The average weld shear strength of 4 welds taken at random shall
not be less than 50% of the breaking strength of the vertical wire (in
accordance with EN 10223-7).
1.6. Metallic Coating
● Wires are galvanized before welding.
● Minimum Zinc Coating will be 40 GSM in accordance with BS EN 10244-2 Class D.
● GI RHS tubes shall have the minimum zinc coating of 80 GSM.
1.7 Thermoplastic Coating
● Panels are ThermoPlastic coated after welding.
● Coating shall have a minimum thickness of 250 microns.

● Posts shall be Hot Dip Galvanized with minimum zinc coating of 70 Microns in accordance
with BS EN 1461:2009

● Thickness: Coating has a thickness of 250 microns
● Colour: RAL 6005

2.3 Profiled Cover Plate & Fixtures

● The Mesh is secured on the Post through a Profiled Cover Plate by means of Stainless Steel Nuts and
Bolts.
● Thickness of Profiled Cover Plate shall be 2.75mm.
● Cover Plate is made from GI sheets and subsequently Thermo Plastic Coating after fabrication.
● Each Set of fixtures includes SS 304 mushroom headed; square necked bolts and security nuts.
2.4 Post Cap
● Each post will be supplied with one PVC Cap.

This document was generated to summarize the results of testing conducted by Southwest Research Institute
(SwRI) on February 4-5, 2020. Please refer to the formal final report submitted (SwRI document number
18.25784.01.101.FR1, Issue 1) for complete information on the test procedures and detailed test results for
the A1 AKAT Pro 6 Fence design. Test report and video for the A1 AKAT Pro 6 Fence will be provided
separately.
Forced Entry Resistance
SwRI conducted testing in accordance with ASTM F2781-15, “Standard Practice for Testing Forced Entry,
Ballistic and Low Impact Resistance of Security Fence Systems.” The A1 AKAT Pro 6 Fence design was
evaluated relative to two levels of threat, Medium and Aggressive, using an inventory of limited hand and
small power tools outlined in the ASTM standard. This testing resulted in a rating reflecting the severity
