TASK 3

JUAN FELIPE( Presentador):

WELCOME, ONCE AGAIN TO THE REPORT SHOW, My name is Juan felipe
today we have three great guests (Alejandro, David, Santiago) and they will talk about a key
and very important topic for the future, which is: should robots be used in medicine to
diagnose patients during doctor’s appointment’s?.
So let's start with Alejandro's opinion.

ALEJANDRO(a favor):

Hi, my name is Alejandro Cáceres, I am a doctor from the University of La Sabana, I am

going to explain 3 reasons why robots should be used in medicine to diagnose patients
during medical appointments

• Data collection through interviews and tests to patients faster and cheaper.
• Processing and analysis of results in a few minutes.
• Use multiple data sources to arrive at an accurate diagnosis
Determining an appropriate treatment method (only when they are minor illnesses)

However

I'm going to tell you about the experience of a patient who used AI in his diagnostic. His
name is Jose

José said that diagnostic was faster,and that he wasn't needing to wait hours to be attended

My friend is a doctor of general medicine.

she told me she had worked until six and she had left the hospital early, due to AI robots
were able to diagnose patients with mild illnesses and doctors only focused on those who
needed the most care

If robots with IA had studied medicine, it would have passed the exam

Technological advances generate greater coverage and service provision for this reasons
robots with AI are present in our hospital

JUAN FELIPE :We continue with Davids Opinion

DAVID(en contra) :
Hi I’m David , I'm a Spanish researcher. I think that never in life, robots can replace the
doctors.

No, since to the extent that robots should not replace the doctor's diagnosis, but facilitate
and improve it, they make it more accurate and efficient.

I'm going to tell you about one researcher. Her name is Anchal Goel.

She said that technology was replacing almost everything at this moment.

We need paper to write, but now software could be used to write on to ease the process of
write.

We asked her if this modern technology can replaced the doctors too?

She told us that the answer of that question was a BIG NO.

The technology couldn’t replace a Doctor. The technology was only an argumentation to a
doctor.

It could help the process of diagnosis, but it certainly couldn't replace the role of the native
doctor.

She said that also the doctors need to learn about these news technologies because they
need to innovate and have more efficiency when they are working

It was important to remember, a doctor has all the skills and feelings than a human has,
while a robot doesn’t have because this cannot be taught yet.

In conclusion, she said that A patient needs human interaction like the doctor human but at
the same time needs precision in his diagnosis for the doctor can save his life in whatever
case. All this with the appropriate technology to help the doctor and people .

FELIPE : I would not agree that robots diagnose patients, a study says that robots have a
database of 132 thousand people with certain characteristics where a base disease is
stipulated for everyone, I dont think that this is the correct way, because not all people are
the same and all have different kinds of problems or diseases.

I think robots could be efficient and could work to take some decisions after the doctors
check people and diagnoses a disease, robots could be programmed for certain diseases in
specific. if robots had appeared long years ago, the doctors would not have worked but this
means doctors cant be eliminated, every patient needs the relationship doctor-patient, where
can trust and have the feeling, the doctor can give opinions while robots are mechanics they
just give a solution and that’s all

In conclusion, I think that people would rather choose a doctor than a robot, because there
would be more confidence when speking and telling them what is happening and there
would be more comfort. it would not be an efficient job if the robots do this work
WE CONTINUE WITH SANTIAGOS OPINION

SANTIAGO ( A favor): Hi, my name is Santiago chaparro, I am a doctor and investigator

from Hardvart, I think that robots already do basic tasks such as transporting patients,
remembering the taking of medications or doctor appointments, or making a record of vital
signs, but in the area of patient diagnosis they still need to improve since for now they
function as powerful allies of the physician who, with their help, are able to overcome their
human limitations by complementing them in the same way by performing surgeries that
would not be possible if they were only performed by humans.
According to studies, robots do not need to be perfect to diagnose or prescribe treatments,
they simply need to be better than humans, since around 15% of diagnoses made by
doctors are wrong, so robots would have an advantage in these aspects because they can
memorize Impeccably form thousands of diseases and medical records with all their details,
including the rarest ailments and can be constantly updated from medical scientific
publications.
The above are some of the most significant reasons why I agree that robots should be used
in medicine to diagnose patients during medical appointments.

ALEJANDRO(a favor):

In conclusion

I agree with David, the doctor has all the skills and feelings that a human, while a robot does
not have because this cannot be taught, but AI can learn to have a respectful treatment with
patients. In addition, these robots will only be present as a diagnosis for those who have mild
symptoms

I think robots should replace the medical functions of diagnosis, but this does not imply
replacing doctors.

JUAN FELIPE( Cierra):

Well that would be all for today and we appreciate that you were able to be with us talking
about a very important topic for the development of technology-supported medicine.
I hope you have a great night and remember to wash your hands
