PRESENTATION

3b Now, have a look at the dialogues and look at the verbs in the box. These are the verbs
in the 3d form. Try to complete the sentences with these verbs. Now let’s listen and check.

1/ A Have you seen my yellow jumper? I can’t find it.

B No, I haven’t. Have you looked in your wardrobe?
A Of course, I have. What’s that under your bed?
B Oh, yes. I remember now. I borrowed it.

Ok, so what are the initial forms of these verbs? looked — look, dried — dry…

Ok, great. Now, have a look at the first dialogue. What do you think, is it about some specific
time or not? Yes, it happened, but we don’t know exactly, when.

We have some similar sentences here. Have a look at the rest and underline the sentences
with these words: just, yet, already.
All these sentences are written in Present Perfect. Turn the page 132 and have a look at the
table and explanation of this tense. Read the information here and write down the most
important points:
- when it is used
- how to make a sentence
So, create a mind map of present perfect tense. You have 3 minutes for that.

What do we always have in present perfect? How do we create statements?

have/has + V3

You already know that all the verbs in English are divided into 2 groups: regular and
irregular. You can find irregular verbs in the table, and, in fact, you need to learn them, to
memorize the 3d form to make the sentences in PrPerf. As for the regular verbs — you just
add ending -ed and that’s it.

PRACTICE

1. Ex. A, p 133 — 2 minutes to do it individually (we check out together reading in turn).
2. Ex. B — 3 minutes. Let’s exchange the notebooks and check it out in pairs. If you
have any questions, please ask.
3. Extra: ex I — choose the correct answer. Read 1 by 1.
4. Put the words in the correct order to make sent. 3 minutes. Check in pairs.
