Welcome to the 12th year of our spring opening program for Texas State University-Round Rock,
currently called [re]Imagine. We are pleased, as Round Rock Arts, to see so many of our artists
“graduate” to professional levels of artistic expressions and engagement in large shows such as EAST
and WEST after starting out with us through our galleries. There is so much visual art in Williamson
County compared to 12 years ago! And it is getting increasingly competitive to be selected for our
exhibits.
As co-founder and outgoing President on March 31, I thank those who have volunteered on the board,
a committee, in the gallery, or during an event. I appreciate those who have made a monetary
donation, and financially sponsored an event, a gallery, or a fundraiser over the years. And just as
importantly, I admire those who have supported the RRA organization and the art community through
kindly deeds and supportive voice. Engagement in RRA is a labor of love for art and our artists, with
many volunteer hours, sometimes full-time, donated by board and committee members. We also
appreciate the continued support of our gallery sponsors, Texas State University-Round Rock,
County Commissioner Terry Cook and staff at the Williamson County Jester Annex Gallery, and the
City of Round Rock’s Downtowner Gallery.
I wish you well as I leave this organization as a board member, to pursue my artistic endeavors and
assume a less ambitious level of volunteerism. The best thing that each of you can do to help RRA
flourish is by action - serve on a committee, serve on the board, lend your accounting and computer
expertise, volunteer at The Downtowner and Chalk Walk, make a monetary donation, and be a sponsor
for our galleries, events, and fundraisers.
Paint it forward!
