I. OBJECTIVE/S: At the end of one period, the students are expected to


determine the nutritional value of
salad and dressing.

B. Lesson Proper
1. Activity
a. Activity I – Type of Salad is a Meal.
Direction/s:
 List down nutrients that you know that can be found in the
foods that you eat.
 Write in a ½ sheet of paper with the number of your groups
and names of the members.
 15 minutes will be allotted for this activity
 Points will be based on the numbers of correct answers.
b. Activity II
Direction/s:
 Group yourself into 5 with at least 4 members. Consolidate
your answers by checking each other answers.
 On the board with the heading vitamins and essential
minerals, classify your consolidated answers by writing it to
which column it belongs.

 5 minutes will be allotted for this activity.
 Points will be based on the numbers of correct.
2. Analysis
a. What do you think is vitamins and minerals?
b. What do you think is its effects to the body if vitamins is absent
or lacking in our body?
c. What do you think is our lesson for today?
3. Abstraction
Refer to Learner’s Guide for Grade 9 in Cookery pp. 102-104
4. Application
Mentioned salad and dressing ingredient and let the student
determine the nutrients present in that ingredients.
IV. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION:
Using the table below let the students fill in the nutritive value present in
the following salad recipe.

V. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT:
Interview your parent/s/guardian/s what is/are the common disease/s in
the family and identify local vegetables used in salad and dressing that
can help in the treatment of such disease/s
