I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards Numeracy Skills

B. Performance Standards A: Show desirable attitudes and values in the application of mathematics in daily life.

C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives

Write the LC code for each.  Demonstrates the importance and value of mathematics as a means of
communicating and solving problems in daily life, e.g., computing and comparing
costs of goods to make a decision on which to buy.

(LS2CP/NS-NSPSA LE/AE/LS/AS-1 )

 Demonstrates creativity, interest, and curiosity in asking questions, defining problems,

considering different strategies, and finding appropriate solutions to problems through
mathematics, e.g., analyzing the given data in a problem and identifying what
mathematical operation will be applied to solve the problem.
(LS2CP/NS-NS-PSA-BL/LE/AE/LS/AS-2)

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Springboard/Motivation (Establishing a purpose Activity 1:
for the lesson)
 Ask learners if they know the mathematical symbols flash on the
pictures.

 What is the value and importance of Mathematics in our life?

B. Activity (Review of previous lesson/s or Activity 2:

Presenting the new lesson)
LE: Cite some problems you encounter in your life as a learner.

AE-JHS: Answer the question: "What comes into your mind when you hear the word "Math or
Mathematics?"

C. Analysis (Presenting examples/instances of the Activity 3:

new lesson)
 Reporting of output.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new Activity 4: ERL Discussion

 Discuss Solving Day to Day Problems Lesson 2.

E. Abstraction (Making generalizations about the Ask:
lesson)

 Why most of the people like and don’t like mathematics subject?

 Why do you think Math is very valuable in our life?

 Do you like or don’t like Math? Why?

 Why do we need to know how to solve our problems?

F. Application (Developing mastery) Give each group a Manila Paper and a Pen.

LE: List five things where Math is very useful in your home or community.

AE: Brainstorming: Of the three values of mathematics, which do you think is the
most important value? Why?

JHS: Study the scenario in the given situation and answer the questions that follow.

G. Valuing (Finding practical application

of concepts and skills in daily living)
 How will you give importance in learning Mathematics in your everyday
interaction?

H. Evaluation (Assessing learning) LE: List five common problems you have in your life.

AE-List five common problems you have in your life and give examples how you will
solve it using Math.

JHS: List down the things wherein your knowledge in Mathematics was able to help
you.

I. Agreement (Additional activities for application or  Simple Investigation: Interview people in your family or community about the
remediation) importance and value of Mathematics in their daily life.
