Sub : Violation in Turn-Around-Time in submission of COVID-19 reports beyond 24 hours resulting in not getting the timely report Gentlemen, It is observed that for last 10 days M/s. Metropolis is violating the Turn-Around Time of 24 hours for submission of report to ICMR (as per the guidelines of ICMR) which went up to 69 hours on up to on 4.6,2020. Hence, a show cause notice through email was sent to M/s. Metropolis to improve the turnaround time. However, it was noticed that the turnaround time on 7.6.2020 was also not improved, which was 58 hours. Due to Tumaround time over 24 hours, it delays in contact tracing, delay in initiating the treatment and ultimately mortality rate, which is causing severe inconvenience to MCGM and citizens at large. A\l above facts amounts to gross irregularities and negligence on your part in violating the Turn-Around Time of 24 hours for submission of report. Considering the scale of spread of COVID-19 pandemic, serious implications of any lapses and irregularities in dealing with the issue, M/s. Metropolis is hereby directed to discontinue / stop the COVID-19 testing at their lab for 4 weeks from receipt of this notice or till further orders.
