EXPERIMENTAL STRATEGY, WITH MATERIALS AND METHODS

This article sought to explain the significance of qualitative and quantitative research
conducted to authenticate pharmaceutical products in the field of quality control. Analytical
methods such as volumetric analysis are used in quality control and are one of the earliest
analytical measures. Broad analyses is divided into three parts such as titrimetric analysis,
chromatographic analysis and instrumental analysis. Titrimetric analyses in three components
such as volumetric analysis, gravimetric testing and columnetric analyses.
Controls of the consistency of raw and finished material are the bottleneck of the
pharmaceutical industry. The incoming goods are checked by titrimetric method first. The
consistency and quantitative examination here indicates the purity or reliability of the material.
Though volumetric titration is not absolutely accurate because titration tools, temperature and
other laboratory conditions influence the tests. To achieve accurate and straightforward tests, it is
advisable to define the category of volumetric solutions. The effects of this approach are
determined by several different factors, such as the instrument (electrodes / electric error /
electrode adjustments), storage, pacing, the volumetric solution varies in temperature, owing to
its impact by ambient oxygen , carbon dioxide, microorganisms. (e.g. dilution preparation). This
effects from the calculation process.

RESULTS
Table 1. Titrimetric analysis contains 3 components. These techniques may be used to determine
the pureness of a constituent in a given sample. The main difference between gravimetric and volumetric
analysis is that the mass of the analyte is calculated in gravimetric analysis, whilst the volume of the
analyte is determined in volumetric analysis. The coulometric approach is much less than that used in the
volumetric phase.

Table 2. The analysis may not be precise and reliable by titration, but for the pharmaceutical drug
analysis all above methods are choice. To do this, the WHO and ICH rules must be followed. Titration – a
simple method with many possible applications. Titration methods for a large part of the material
determinations described in the monographs are chosen for their simplicity and accuracy.

It’s really nice that the author includes such tables of titrimetric analysis methods and
some recent applications of techniques in pharmaceutical analysis because it’s easier understand
and interpret it. The visual representations show in this study was used to organized information
to show relationships and patterns. It also impact on the statistical interpretation of the data.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
The findings need to be calculated with high precision in the analytical study. Any
methods employed should be adapted to the problem. A reproducible and traceable results
documentation must be present in appropriate working procedures. It is important to explain in
detail how a quality management system should be structured for titrimetric analysis.

The importance of volumetric analysis in quality control is that this method includes
measuring the volume of a solution of known concentration used to determine the analyte
concentration. That is the method by which mass calculation can be used to assess the volume of
an analyte. The hypothesis was tested and result of having a significant relationship that
volumetric analysis is important in quality control.

Titration is an analytical method of quantitative chemical analysis for estimating the

unknown concentrations of any substance, for example raw material, substance or finished
material. Titration is a classical volumetric analysis method. The desired substance is determined
by adding a solution of known concentration, namely the analyte, to produce a visible change in
chemical. Color change or precipitated formation can be the chemical changes. This method is
widely used and has been included in most important international pharmacopeia and other
regulations. IT cannot be qualitative method due to the unspecific conductance. Titration can be
a qualitative method but only in acid-base titrations and redox titrations. It is proven that titration
is a quantitative method and cannot be qualitative method.

Titrating is a common quantitative chemical analysis laboratory method. Titration has

been widely employed for the pharmaceutical industry as the weight percent test for active
ingredients, intermediates, raw materials and finished products for small molecules. In order to
analyze the substance, a titrant with the known concentration and volume is added. It was proven
that there’s a significant relationship of using titration in pharmaceutical industry.

In this article, it was observed that in the analysis field either directly or implicitly the
volumetric analysis plays a significant role. This result certainly maintains the standard of
product quality despite the lack of precise results. There’s a lack of discussion in what methods
they’re going to use, that’s why it’s hard to anlayze it at first. But overall, they justified what
they’re looking for in this research.
