ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, we would like to thank Almighty Allah for giving us

the ability and strength to complete this project report. Secondly,
we are also thankful to our respective parents for providing us
with the opportunity to receive higher education in such an
accomplished institution (UCP) that required us to carry out
such projects that expand the dimensions of our mind. We are
definitely not forgetting to recognize the efforts and support of
our Respected Teacher SIR HAFIZ YOUSAF, without whom
this project would not have been possible. Who give us the
opportunity to work on a project? Our special thanks to the
group members who have whole-heartedly work for the
completion of this report. All of us have earned a valuable and
worthy experience during the project.
RICE
It is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part
of the world's human population, especially in Asia. It is
the agricultural commodity with the third-highest
worldwide production. Rice is Pakistan's third largest crop
in terms of area sown, after wheat and cotton. About 11
percent of Pakistan's total agricultural area is rice during
the summer. Pakistan is a leading producer and exporter
of Basmati and IRRI rice (white long grain rice).
HISTORY

Rice has fed more people over a longer period of time

than any other crop. As far back as 2500 B.C. rice has
been documented in the history books as a source of food
and for tradition as well. Beginning in China and the
surrounding areas, its cultivation spread throughout Sri
Lanka, and India. It was then passed onto Greece and
areas of the Mediterranean. Rice spread throughout
Southern Europe and to some of North Africa. From
Europe rice was brought to the New World. From
Portugal it was brought into Brazil and from Spain to
Central and South America.
INTRODUCTION

Rice is central to the lives of billions of people around the

world. Possibly the oldest domesticated grain (~10,000
years), rice is the staple food for 2.5 billion people and
growing rice is the largest single use of land for producing
food, covering 9% of the earth's arable land. Rice
provides 21% of global human per capita energy and 15%
of per capital protein
TYPES OF RICE
There are 3 kinds of rice varieties in Pakistan, which are
produced for local consumption and export. These are
Basmati (aromatic), IRRI variety (medium long grain)
and bold grain (cold tolerant varieties). Throughout the
world, Basmati rice is quite famous for its pleasant aroma
combined with eating qualities and perfect cooking. The
medium long grain rice varieties are usually produced in
Sindh region and provide superior yield than basmati rice
varieties.
Production of rice on 25 acre The pre
acre production mann were as following:
41,42,19,23,25,35,35,40,11,12,22,29,27,14,1
6,17,20,23,19,14,27,31,37,36,31

PIE CHART
MEAN
The "mean" is the "average" you're used to,
where you add up all the numbers and then
divide by the number of numbers.
 Example :
 6,8,9,8,7
εχ
 Sol. : χ = n
 χ = 385
 χ =7.6

FORMULA
FORMULA
 ∑
x́=
εf
fx

674
= 25

 = 26.96
MEDIAN

 The "median" is the "middle"

value in the list of numbers.
 Example :
 6,8,9,8,7
 Sol. : arrangement = 6,7,8,8,9
 Median is = 8
FORMULA

f
 Median = lb + Hf [ ∑2 −cF ]
5 25
 Median = 22.5 + 6 { 2 −9 }
5
 Median = 22.5 + 6 {12.5−9 }
 Median = 22.5 + 56 {3.5}
 Median = 22.5 +0.83 {3.5}
 Median = 22.5 +2.905
 Median = 25.405

MODE
 The "mode" is the value that
occurs most often. If no number in
the list is repeated, then there is no
mode for the list.
 Example:
 6,8,9,8,7
 Mode is 8 because it occurs 2
times.

FORMULA
 Mode = lb+
(f m−F 1) H
( f m −F 1)+ ( f m −f 2 )

 Mode = 22.5 + ( 6−5 ) 5

( 6 −5 ) + ( 6−3)

 Mode = 22.5 +5
( 1 ) + ( 4)

 Mode = 22.5 +(5 )

(4 )

 Mode = 22.5 + 1.25

 Mode = 23.75
SKEWNESS

 The lack of symmetric is called

skewness. There are two types of
skewness:
1. Positive skewness
2. Negative skewness
 Positive skewness
A distribution is known as positive skewness
if = Mean > median> mode (80>60>40)
 Negative skewness
A distribution is known as positive skewness
if = Mean < median < mode (40<60<80)

RESULT
 Our answers are (26.96 > 25
>23.75)
 So positive skewness
