For the successful accomplishment of our task we are firstly thankful to ALMIGHTY ALLAH
for his blessings upon us. We are also thankful to our course instructor (Mam Umme Summaiya)
who provided us with all those guidelines necessary for the accomplishment of our task and
within the lights of his supervision we were able to understand the objectives necessary for the
task. Organizational Behavior provided us with the platform of giving better understandings
about the Organizational Behavior.
We were assigned with the group work for our final project. It was based on the
interaction with any organization and conducting their interview. The report work is totally based
on the interview conducted. The report being submitted is a result of collective effort.
Throughout the semester our respected instructor has given us advices and helped us for this
project execution. I on behalf of my team members convey our sincere gratitude to our
competent instructor (Ma’am Umme Summaiya). Without her help and guidance and the help of
my team members it wouldn’t have been possible to accomplish this report and project work.
We would like to express our special thanks of gratitude to our (Ma’am Umme Summaiya) who
gave us the golden opportunity to do this wonderful project which also helped us in doing a lot of
Research and we came to know about so many new things we are really thankful to them.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Purpose of this report is to hold out this research in the organization, identify issues and give
recommendation to boost things within the organization. The discussion focusses on human
factors and behavioral aspects of organization. In this report we have discussed about the
Organizational Behavior functions of Burque Corporation Ltd Pvt. Like how they plan about the
goals of the company and what work is to be done by authorities to achieve those goals in the
case of conflicts. Decision making is the most important task in management as results are
connected with decision made. Planning, Leading, Controlling & Organizing are the main
functions of management. Burque Corporation Ltd Pvt uses the same functions in their
management. There company is hierarchy based and decisions are too made by subordinates as
well. BC is currently market leader in Supply Chain Industry and they have well maintained
environment within their organization. They motivate their employees and guide them properly
about the concerned problem. They have great friendly environment and more than 2500
employees are enrolled in BC. Ethical care & Shariah Compliance is their first priority and
quality maintenance is their main goal.
Introduction:
Initially in 1967, they start their business as manufacturer of battery cells after that they extend
business into trading.

After the expansion Burque is running both businesses separately.

Burque plays a key role in the distribution sector since 1974.

Burque’s corporate operations are being managed by skilled and competent professionals.

Burque, one of Pakistan's largest distribution companies of FMGC brands, prides in more than
three decades of business partnerships with multinational and national companies.

Since 1974, Burque has achieved innovative results in its sales management and distribution.
Their qualified professionals have developed quality standards by providing high quality
products to customers in all sectors.

Today they are heading to 110 000 plus outlets in all over the country, from the smaller shop on
the corner of the road in the small village of an urban supermarket.

As a dynamic and diversified sales and distribution company, we are committed to serve our
customers in local and global markets, optimizing the stakeholders’ value, ensuring Shariah
compliance.

GOALS AND PLANS:


Strategic planning, formulation and implementation are core management functions. Even
though strategic management has been in existence for only a few years its implications have
been firmly and strongly embedded in organizations that want to stand in good stead. Our
Penetration Strategy - Best Route Channel Wise Focus They have a network of multiple sub
distributors across the country especially in the rural towns to ensure maximum coverage and
make our products available at every market location. Each channel has its significance, be it
Retail, Wholesale or Key Accounts. At Burque, each channel is serviced through a different sales
team. Each channel opportunity is assessed and sales, schemes, discounts and promotions are
planned accordingly keeping in mind the different needs for product type and SKU variants in
each channel.
Literature Review:
Organizational Behavior plays a completely important function in human society. It contributes
to merit based job creation; it is the riding force of the marketplace financial system.
Organizational Behavior tasks boom aggressive stress and force other organizations to react with
the aid of improving performance or introducing innovation. Organizational Behavior also
performs sizeable role in training that contributes to coaching of people to be accountable,
enterprising individuals who've the abilities, knowledge and attitudes had to achieve the desires.
From the behavioral angle, this take a look at analyzed the entrepreneurial readiness of
youngsters in phrases of opportunity identity, motivational factors, resources, and entrepreneurial
ability. They observe tested the effect of Organizational Behavior on humans’ equipped-ness to
interact in entrepreneurial interest and the components at the back of a hit success.

There are around 4000-4500 employees working in Pakistan. During lunch time all employees
including Managers and HODs gather there and there they react like family. The departments of
burque are as follow:

Administration Department
They deal with the overall actions of the company and take decisions as well.

Sales Department
They are responsible for the sales of company.

Marketing Department
They help in increasing sales of company by advertisement in b2b market etc.

Finance Department
It deals with financial matters of the company including taxation tragedy & investments as well

Methodology:
The chapter will enable the reader to develop a clear understanding of the methodology used in
this report. The chapter consists of research design of the study, the procedure of how the study
is carried out, the exact population, the sample taken and the sampling method that is used, the
measurement and the instrument selection, variables on which the study is based and the
hypothesis used to test the reliability and the validity of the variables. The chapter also includes
the plan of analysis, software employed and the research schedule is also mentioned.

Procedure:
The research is focused towards exploring the causes of conflicts which make hurdle in
organisation performance.

Research report was conducted in Burque corporation pvt ltd of Karachi using unstructured
interview as the data collection method. The interview question has been adopted from the
instructor sample report & previous studies as per the requirements of this study. The
questionnaire has been constructed with three sections. The first part requires the demographic
details of the respondents such as age, gender, etc. The second part focuses on the respondents’
current personal life and what their preferences are by providing them multiple options. The third
part is the focusing individually on Flexible hours, Education, Self-grooming and Leisure. Data
collection of this Pilot study was conducted by getting the interview by the Managerial level
positions in Burque Corporation.

RESULT:
We interviewed Mr. Mohammed Sajid Naqi (Manager Accounts) at Burque Corporation and we
asked bunch of unstructured questions to him as a result of this interview he said that they use
democratic management style sometimes assistants report direct to seniors. Considering a fact
that it’s a very friendly environment but when it comes to deadline everybody has to submit their
work on time no matter what, they have their own SOPs which they have to meet. If any
employee is weak or not able to deliver than firstly as a manager he himself counsel them if an
employee is facing a problem in his personal life or any issue at workplace then he is always
available for his employees because he believe that if an employee work by heart than
productivity will be higher

As a Accounts manager he believes that a manager fails when he doesn’t think himself as a
leader and commands his employees as a “Boss” and he also believes that autocratic
management style is good for a manager but for a short term, if a manager take his team as a
whole then for a long term he will be more reliable for his team because a manager is
representing his team and he is not fulfilling requirements of tasks alone, he has got his whole
team behind him which is also working hard, a manager always has to make them work
comfortably and should lead by an example by working not just as a manager but a leader as
well.

As far as his job satisfaction is concerned he said that he should have work for him in which he is
interested apart of that he get tasks which are not in his job description but they also have to
complete those tasks and top management intentionally does that to know about the elasticity of
people working under them I on the other hand as well give my employees work from different
departments to see if they can handle pressure or not and to know about their capacity and it is
also good approach for job rotation purpose.

About stress management in team he said that I do a lot of counseling to my team members
because with diverted mind productivity is definitely effected which cause negative effects to the
whole team and further he said that he does not just go out for dinners with his team members
but he always have lunch along with their team members because he beliefs that to be a
successful manager he has to be connected with his employees emotionally as well.

About discrimination among culture, race Burque Corporation has a policy that blood related
person cannot be hired at any level of the organization to avoid any kind of conflicts among
employees and favoritism .

Fresh graduates are more enthusiastic than senior employees because of their newly hired phase
and to achieve their goals in life but consistency is in senior employees because of more
experience.
As far as conflicts among employees is concerned he said that we are totally unbiased and we
solve conflicts by listening to both persons who are arguing and solve matter calmly, even
though sometimes it happens that an employee has a conflict with higher level manager which is
also being resolved by a combined discussion.

Disagreement with seniors varies from organization to organization but according to this
organization’s environment it is very important for growth because it boosts your thoughts and
creativity and enhances your mind to think outside the box, and if you don’t disagree you won’t
learn, but you should disagree only when you have done your homework and you know that you
are right and it should be done in a sophisticated way.

Employee has to leave after gaining experience from one organization because of self-learning
and experiencing different kinds of bosses is the most important thing to be a successful
manager, you learn to handle pressure in different circumstances.

Empowering employees is very important to be a good manager because a manager with true
leadership skills never gets insecure in making his employees learn everything about managing
staff. A manager who hesitates regarding make his employees learns everything about
management skills, will never be a good manager.

Advice at last for graduating students that don’t go for monetary benefits, always try to find a job
where you think you can learn because if your learning is good then you will automatically have
monetary benefits and growth in your job.

People don’t leave organizations people leave bosses


Recommendations:
At Burque Corporation there is discrimination that they don’t hire Non-Muslims because of the
fact that they run under umbrella of Shariah compliance, we think that they should and they can
hire Non-Muslims and give them jobs which are not related to Islam.

Organizational Behavior Model:

Individual:
According to Manager Accounts his behavior to the employees reflects the output of the tasks
and that’s why he is lenient and supportive to his sub ordinates.

Organizational:
CEO needs work to be done under Shariah compliance no matter what management style is
being used by managers and managers have been given free hands regarding tasks handling and
SOPs.
