Color Gradients and Blue Stragglers in the Central Region of M30
Analyzed the stellar populations and stellar density profile in the very center of the dense globular
cluster M30 using HST WFPC2 images. Resulted in presentation to Physics Club. Under the direction
of Puragra Guha Thakurta.
Predicting Mass Loss Rates of Red Giants from CO Observations
B.A. dissertation, Advisor: John Kwan, University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Modeled the atmospheres of red giant stars to characterize the relationship between the mass loss rate
and the antenna temperatures of two CO rotational transition lines. Publication being prepared.
TECHNICAL EMPLOYMENT
Microcal Software (now OriginLabs), makers of Origin software 1993-1998
Product Manager, (1995) Revamped and organized entire OEM system from start to finish to ensure
customer satisfaction and quality support for OEM customers. Negotiated contracts with OEM
companies. Coordinated software testing procedure and beta testing program. Assisted with creating
new documentation. Managed customer training program.
Technical Support Manager, (1993-1994) Coordinated technical support tasks for 5 technicians and one
assistant. Hired and trained all technical support staff. Supervised creation and editing of over 1000
pages of documentation. Developed training material on the use the Origin software. Assured quality
of the software by developing and executing thorough in house testing procedure and selecting
appropriate beta testers. Planned and developed new templates to add to the software using built-in
programming language. Planned future versions of the software.

FORTRAN programming, Excel spreadsheets, single-user linux workstation administration, highly
organized from years of management experience.
