Introduction.
In demotics, three different sectors can be distinguished depending on the scope of
application of this technology:

 Domotics, for the domestic sector.

 Real estate, for the tertiary and industrial sector (residences, hotels,
community areas, etc.).
 Urbótica, for cities (control of public lighting, traffic light management,
telecommunications, means of payment, etc.).

In order to define a home automation, at least two points of view must be

considered: that of the user and the technical point of view.

From the user's point of view, a home automation home is one that provides a
higher quality of life through new technologies, offering a reduction in domestic
work, an increase in the well-being and safety of its inhabitants, and a
rationalization of the different consumptions. All this considering the ease of use for
all tenants, even when any of them has a disability or deficiency.

From a technological point of view, it is the one in which the different domestic
appliances that can intercommunicate with each other through a communications
support are integrated, so that they can perform tasks that until now have been
done manually.
What is home automation?
Home automation allows communication between the user and a system of
connected objects that make up a home. Connected objects are any type of device
with an internet connection. This is possible thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT).
A home automation system collects the information from these connected objects,
processes it and issues orders that automate certain actions established by the
user. Home automation and Wi-Fi go hand in hand, since this makes home
automation control of objects possible through intercommunication and the transfer
of information between all the devices that make up the home automation center of
a home. Home automation is oriented to the comfort of the users by means of this
automation of actions in a wireless environment that allows to form what is known
as a smart home.

How does it work?

Home automation incorporates new technologies into the equipment of homes and
buildings so that the user can centrally control all the devices that make up the
installation.

These devices have built-in sensors that allow them to collect information and
communicate with the home automation central through a communication network.

The home automation system can be managed centrally through a control panel
that allows the user to monitor their smart home both in person and remotely
through devices.

What is the Internet of things?

IoT is a system of objects that collect data in real time through sensors that allow
them to process and transmit that information both to the server and to other
devices.

The Internet of Things collaborates with home automation when integrating these
connected objects into a tool with which certain actions can be automated.

This interconnection of objects through IoT technology favors the construction of a

smart home managed remotely by any device that receives this information from a
connected object and can process a response.
Home automation applications.
Home automation aims to improve the quality of life of users and can be grouped
into different categories:

 Energy efficiency: home automation control allows monitoring and

optimizing global energy consumption through efficient management.

 Comfort: the possibility of controlling different household chores remotely

and even programming them automatically through the home automation
system make the room more comfortable.

 Security: the sensors of the different objects connected to the home

automation system allow remote monitoring of the home and the
programming of responses to possible intrusions in the security system.

 Accessibility: home automation seeks to make it possible for anyone,

regardless of their degree of capacity, to make use of household items.

 Communication: it is the basis of any home automation system, since it

allows the connection between the user and the different connected devices
and enables remote control of the home automation home.

Types of home automation installations.

 Dedicated Cable Systems (BUS): They are those that use a dedicated
cable (BUS) to transmit orders.
 Wireless systems (Radiofrequency): They are those that do not use cable
to transmit the signal. Radio frequency (RF) waves are used with
transmitters and receivers capable of transmitting and interpreting orders.
 Carrier current systems (Powerline): Also known as Powerline, they use
the power cable of the devices to send the control signal.
 Mixed Systems: combination of systems: In any case, to make a good
choice in order to cover the services demanded it may be necessary to use
more than one system giving rise to what is called: Mixed Systems.
Conclusion.
Cortez Rios Jorge
Thanks to home automation we can solve problems such as facilitating a person
with problems to do things at distances through WIFI or bluethoot networks to
controlling the luminosity of a building, based on technology offering comfort,
energy efficiency, security, accessibility and communication.

but it also has its disadvantages by not having a good connection network, so it is
advisable not to forget the manual part.

Delgado Silva Juan Pablo

Home automation offers many advantages, not only of comfort as the automation
of different systems such as lighting, raising and lowering of blinds, multimedia
management, etc. But also, security at home, not only against intrusions, but with a
wide variety of detectors to control that there is no leak or problem in the home. In
addition, there is the possibility of significant energy savings, thanks to zoning and
management programs.
