Introductions

• Introduce myself (name and what I

do).

+5 minutes • Brief introduction of what the

professional development is going

to be about and why it is

necessary.

Virtual Video Platform

• Explain the importance of video

sessions in this new age.

• There are different companies that

offer a video option to help

teachers teach and connect with

+10 minutes
their students.

• Make sure to use only programs

that your school district approves.

• Big Blue Button has been

approved for use by many school

districts or by their LMS.

 Big Blue Button (BBB)

• This platform has been district

approved in the district that my

school currently resides in.

• BBB generates virtual room

+5 minutes hyperlinks for teachers to easily

send to other teachers and

students. These links give others

access to enter your virtual room.

• This site is easy for students and

teachers to use.

BBB Tools (Walkthrough)

• Teacher Tools: Teachers are able

to start their video session by

pressing a start button, mute all

students in the session, share their

+20 minutes computer screen, turn on their

camera and microphone

(mute/unmute themselves).

• Student Tools: Students are able

to use their camera/microphone

and they are able to mute/unmute

 themselves to ask the teacher

questions.

• Both (Teachers/Students) are able

to type in the chat box to ask and

answer questions.

Tips and Tricks

• Do a trial run (dry run) of a virtual

session. This means do a virtual

session without having any

students in the session so you (the

+10 minutes teacher can use all the tools during

this session).

• During any session (this is

important to do during the trial

run), look at all the features and be

familiar with them.

Questions and Answers

• This will be a time for any

questions, answers, and a final

+10 minutes walkthrough (if necessary)

• Presenter will give link to website

and their contact information for

any other questions

 This Professional Development session is

meant to be a short session so teachers.

This is so that teachers do not feel

overwhelmed with too much information.

Total Time: 60 Minutes
The school is able to request another

training on Big Blue Button. Or the

teachers (participants) may request one

on one sessions.
