will leave you feeling fulfilled and accomplished. Summer
Study Programs’ Intensive Workshops are geared for
participants to dive right into their choosen subject for 3
hours per day, 5 days per week, for 2 weeks. Find which

COMMUNITY SERVICE
ur Triple Play Community Service Workshop is both
Ochallenging and rewarding. Students will obtain
community service hours by performing helpful and
productive tasks at and around Penn State. By lending
a “helping hand," students will gain an understanding
of how a small task can go a long way. Some of the
possible organizations students will work with are
Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, the
Central Pennsylvania Arts Festival, and others. All
students will receive a certificate at the end of the
summer verifying the number of community service
hours completed.

These classes/workshops are taught by Summer Study instructors,
who are academically strong, upper-level undergraduates, graduate
students, graduates in the field, or university instructors. The enrichment

Middle School Enrichment
CLASS CHOICES – Final class selections will be made in
the spring using the “Class Selection Form.” At that time,
students will choose 2 classes per session from the lists
below. Each class has a code (1a, 1b, 2a or 2b), which
indicates when it is offered (first two weeks (1) or second
two weeks (2), morning (a) or afternoon (b)). Your chosen
classes must “fit” into your daily schedule. Be sure to give
adequate thought to the classes in which you would like to
enroll. HINT: Look through all of the classes and pick the
one class that interests you the MOST. Depending on when
that class meets, you can then more easily pick your other
class to complete your schedule.
