Very good!
So what words can we associate to Impromptu for us to No time, no preparations, on the spot etc.
define it easier?

Excellent! How about memorized? From memory, no cue notes or aids, there is
preparation

Right! How about manuscript? There is preparation, the speaker reads it

Exactly! How about extemporaneous? Not necessarily to be read all what it written, but the
speaker uses cue notes

Very good class! I’m glad that you can still recall our
topic yesterday.
C. Presentation of the Lesson:
Yesterday, you delivered a speech in a manuscript way.
But today class, at the end of our lesson you should be
able to Use effective non- verbal communication
strategies; gestures and body movements and eye
contact, etc. while delivering your speech.

D. Discussion:
So, lesson for today is all about Aspects of Physical
Delivery. There are five aspects of physical delivery
that will be covered in this section:
  voice use
 facial expressions

 eye contact

 Gesturing

 Movement

Effective voice use involves several elements.

Naturally, one of the most important aspects is volume.

Facial expressions make sure that your facial

expressions mesh with the feelings and ideas being
expressed.

The simple rule on eye contact is this: The more,

the better. A good strategy for eye contact is to
make brief (a beat or two) eye contact with
members of the audience in one section of the
audience and then move to another section.

One of the most common questions that people

have about public speaking is: What do I do with
my hands? The quick and easy answer is:
Whatever comes naturally (unless clutching the
podium is what comes naturally). The key to good
gesturing is variety, which most of us have in our
everyday gestures.

The final aspect of physical delivery is movement.

If you are positioned behind a podium, your
movements are obviously going to be restricted.
But if you are not using a podium, feel free to
walk to different parts of the stage as you deliver
your speech.

Did you understand class?

E. Generalization:

Now class, how important those 5 aspects of speech (the student will give their insights)
delivery? In your own opinion?
IV. Evaluation:
