Today is a very special day. We are celebrating Republic Day and my family and
friends are here to celebrate with us. We’re having a great time!

My mother is standing in front of the dining table holding a

big bowl of fruits. She’s wearing a traditional Turkish dress.
My father is helping her in preparing the food on the table.

My brother Erdal and his wife, Neslihan, are standing in the

dining room drinking tea and their son Cem is eating bak-
lava.

My best friend Hakan is dancing with my sister and my

cousins are around them clapping their hands.

We’re all having a great time. People are singing, dancing,

laughing, and clapping their hands. It’s a very special day!
