Aim- To carry out the experimental analysis of inverting and non inverting Op Amp and
plot the curve of output Vs Input Voltage
Theorotical Understanding-
Op Amp Gain
9. There are two main scenarios that can be considered when looking at op amp
gain and electronic circuit design using these electronic components:
(a) Open loop gain: This form of gain is measured when no feedback is
applied to the op amp circuit. In other words it is running in an open loop format.
Gain figures for the op amp in this configuration are normally very high, typically
between 10 000 and 100 000. This is the gain of the operational amplifier on its
own. Figures are often quoted in the op amp data-sheets in terms of volts per
millivolt, V/mV. Quoting the the gain in these terms enables the gain to be written
in a more convenient format. 10 V/mV corresponds to a voltage gain of 10 000. It
saves writing many zeros.
(b) Closed loop gain: This form of gain is measured when the feedback loop
is operation, i.e. a closed loop. By applying negative feedback, the overall gain of
the circuit is much reduced, and can be accurately tailored to the required level
or to produce the required output format as in the case of filters, integrators, etc..
A few electronic components can be added to the op amp circuit to provide the
required feedback. The gain is measured with the loop closed and provided there
is a sufficient difference between the open loop and closed loop gain, the circuit
will operate according to the feedback placed around it.
Experiment analysis
10. Inverting Amplifier.
L1-L3, L4-L7, L4-L5, L6-L9, L8-L12.(For eg. click on 1 and then drag to 3 and so
on.)
(c) We set the Resistance (R1) Value as 11ohm and 46 ohm ( value
between 1 Kohm - 50 Kohm) for analysis 1 and 2 respectively.
(d) We set the Feedback Resistance (Rf) Value as 25 ohm and 97 ohm (2
Kohm - 100 Kohm) for analysis 1 and 2 respectively.
(f) Now we noted the output voltage and click on 'Add to table' button and
increased the input voltage by a factor of 2(approx).
(g) Click on 'Plot' button to plot the output voltage vs input voltage.
(h) The experiment was carried out for two values of R1and Rf as mentioned
above.

on.)
(c) If connected wrong click on 'Delete all connection' button to erase all the
connections.
(d) Set the Resistance (R1) Value 11ohm and 47 ohm (1 Kohm - 50 Kohm).
(e) Set the Feedback Resistance (Rf) Value 34 ohm and 96 ohm (2 Kohm -
100 Kohm).
(g) Now note the output voltage and click on 'Add to table' button.
(i) Click on 'Plot' button to plot the output voltage vs input voltage.
