2. Incentives to Go Solar

Capital Subsidy

Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) gives Capital

Subsidy to the extent of 30% of the cost of installation of Solar
Power System for Off Grid projects of not more than 100 kW per
roof.

Accelerated Depreciation

Section 32 of IT act provides Accelerated Depreciation of 80 %

of the invested capital to companies with tax liability. Solar
Project Developers can set off their tax liability on the taxable
income to the tune of 80% of Solar Project Value in the 1st year,
and subsequently 20% in the 2nd year.

Net Metering

Net Metering allows the Solar Project Owner to feed the excess
Solar Power to grid when the load available is low, say, during
weekends in office buildings. The excess power fed is offset
against the electricity used from the grid in the electricity bill. This
has been implemented in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Andhra
Pradesh and Tamil Nadu till date.

 Complete cabling for connecting PV modules, strings, arrays and all interconnecting and
hardware devices.
 Array Junction boxes incl. all system components as required for mounting and installation
hardware to make the system complete
 Inverter (Power Conditioning Units) including all associated equipment as per design

 Earthing/Grounding system complete with electrode & earth pit

 Generation monitoring and reporting system and provision for on-web display with all
