Description or Rationale
This community project proposal is an artwork for a cause. The artworks will be auctioned in
order to raise funds to provide money and relief goods to the farmers that were strongly affected
by the covid-19 pandemic and to the families who cannot buy fruits and vegetables due to it’s
price increase.
Objectives:
The project’s theme is ‘Magtanim ay ‘Di Biro’ which aims to help the farmers mainly because of
their loss during the pandemic. These farmers may not have the money to start their livelihood
because of their product’s decrease in price and supply. The project also aims to open
opportunities to those who will join the project and create the artworks for a cause. This
opportunity will give them the chance to help others in their own way, helping and doing what
they love at the same time.
Mechanics:
Volunteers from the Institute of Fine Arts and Architecture of Far Eastern University will be
oriented about the project’s goal and its activities. The artists from the two institutes will work
on two different mediums. The volunteers from the fine arts can use any medium that they can in
order to create an artwork that follow the theme ‘Magtanim ay ‘Di Biro’ on the otherhand, artists
from the institute of architecture would be creating scale models that also follows the theme of
the project. The artworks created will then be auctioned to the other institutes of the school. All
the funds raised in the project will then be given to the farmers and families in need. The team
will give cash and relief goods to the farmers.
Values to be Developed:
1. Concern for the Marginalized. The core beneficiaries of this program are: a) the farmers who
have found difficulty in earning profit as a result of the quarantine period, as well as b) the
underprivileged who are/were unable to work and therefore earn in order to support their
families.
2. Service Orientation. This program will allow members of the Tamaraw community to work
together in order to help those who are less fortunate.
Participants:
The project is open for FEU students and outsiders. The workshop part of the project will only be
opened to the Institute of Architecture and Fine arts while the Auction part of the project will be
open to FEU students, faculty members and guests.
