ACTIVATION
Goals are what motivates us to act. Without having
a goal, we will have no clear path to improvement.
Setting a Health Goal is the most important first step
in positively influencing your life.
“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are
you’ll fall into someone else’s plan.” ~ Jim Rohn
Having a Health Goal will lead you to a healthy
lifestyle and can strengthen your resistance to
negative influences such as food ads on T.V.
commercials, internet, etc.
Your Health-Goal will give you a reason to do
morning stretching, choose a green smoothie, and
dedicate yourself to a healthy lifestyle. Many
people do not feel motivated, because they lack
clear direction. A Health Goal will give you that.
Your Health-Goal should be as specific as possible.
For example, “I want to be certified as a yoga
instructor in 6 months” is more specific than “I want
to be good at yoga.”
Things to keep in mind when developing your Health
Goal:
• Be Specific: Include specific details
• Have a Visual Picture: Describe it on paper
• Be Realistic: Be possible given your current life
circumstances
• Be a Product of Healthy Living: Not involve
cutting calories, rather involve adding healthy
behaviors

ACTIVATION
• Be Measurable: Examples: Run 5 miles, eating
3x/day, improving body composition by 2%,
squatting 100lbs 10x etc.

Challenge #1
When you decide on your goal, put it somewhere
visible, such as your smartphone background, or
your bathroom mirror. Make sure you see the goal
multiple times/day.

Challenge #2
Tell a close friend or family member about your goal
and ask them to hold you accountable for reaching
your goal in the allotted amount of time.
Make sure your goal,
• Come from you (intrinsic) and not from others
(extrinsic), and
• Is meaningful -- falls in line with your core values
