Impact of Corona virus on education sector

Coronavirus is considered as global epidemic. It has affected all the sectors of the world but

the sector most affected by it is the education sector school colleges and universities are the

places where we observe the most gathering. The stop of this epidemic required the necessity

of gathering of public to be stopped at once. So the universities schools and colleges were to

be shut down, but as we see this initiative has its adverse effects with itself . The curriculum

year is well designed calendar for the students of any institution. Due to the lock down

extension the educational institutions felt the urge need to complete that curriculum plan by

taking the classes by online means. It was a whole new experience for the teachers as well as

the students because such circumstances were never experienced before. It required the need

for the usage of modern tools for conducting online classes but due to the lack of experience

in this sector it is not resulting as fruitful as it was intended.

Standardized testing and university/college admissions are being delayed across the country.

Some universities have opted to cancel or delay standardized testing, while others are

thinking of extending the academic year due to lock down. Classes & semesters are being

delayed as staff and teachers adapt to the new online platforms and try to switch their

material to a new teaching style. This includes learning of online tools, figuring out how to

convert hands on learning materials or discussion based classes to the new platforms, and

possibly changing the whole learning plan based on the inability to switch it over to an online

platform.

Teachers that are conducting online class initially require a stable heavy Internet connection

which is most likely not available in all the parts offer developing country. Secondly to

control such a big number of students merely on voice command over a computer medium is

quite a difficult task. Students sitting in home take this opportunity as fun and start mocking
in the class that disturbs the whole basic purpose of class and it loses its effectiveness. The

teacher feels helpless in this kind of scenario as he cannot do anything but to say or turn off

their mics. Moreover the technicality of any subject that requires individual attention on

board or in person from the teacher is no longer available.

Their lies a problem on the side of students that they are not equipped with the proper gadgets

required to attend online classes . most schools are also in line to conduct the online classes

but most of the families are now in trouble because their children want a new PC or some sort

of medium attend the online classes. Now along with the institution fee the parents have to be

bear the burden of these gadgets to make the children get online education. The students do

not take it seriously and take it for granted .

Even With the above challenges, the change in education mode also means that more

opportunities are evolving and becoming available to students. A stressing is being put on

online and distance education, making affordable programs more relevant and known to the

students who want to study them. Students who are currently making the shift from normal

classes to online classes may find that a remote education actually works well for them, and

may choose to take further education or degrees online.

To conclude we can say that everything Has both positive and negative impacts . coronavirus

where has made the education system shift from normal classes to the online classes, it has

also opened a new gateway for the students who lives in distant areas and are unable to

pursue their education just because of the reason that they are distant from the good

universities or schools. If we can make this system up to mark with all the necessities this is a

great initiative that can make millions of people educated.
