The funny thing about guns is that nothing on this planet is like them (at least in my
world). The thrill of a firearm going off is unlike anything else in this world. Shooting a
gun is exciting and challenging. The fun in many hobbies is the challenge, in guns
however it is also a thrill in and of itself to feel the gun go off and the smell of a spent
round in the air. The other interesting part about guns is that they are as much a tools
they are a fun toy to have around as a matter of fact guns are mostly a tool.
As many gun owners and as you are I am sure, I am gun OCD. I started off studying
gun history, from the earliest of guns to john browning and the era of automatic
weapons. I also on the other hand love to see new guns, what companies are coming
up with and the creativity of the new design. On of my favorite things is gunsmithing. I
love taking a gun that has been beat up and completely turning it around into a
masterpiece. Something that looks totally new or even better.
I learned a lot of what I know today by reading gun magazines that my grandfather sent
me.
That is one of the reasons for starting this magazine. I want to share the gun information
to people who love guns as well as promoting the second amendment and fighting back
people who do not want us to keep our second amendment rights. When you think
about the people who are against gun owners, they are really missing out on a lot of
fun. But that’s their problem not ours. Our problem is to keep those people from
repealing our second amendment rights and ultimately our God given rights.
Long live American freedom!

Red Flag Laws
With mass shooters being publicized red flag laws have become a hot topic among
politicians both right wing and left. Red flag laws allow a neighbor or family member or
someone in the area to report that you are a threat to yourself or others. Then the police
can arrive and without a court order take your guns from you. It can then be decided by
a court for how long up to one year. Oh and by the way the person who reports you
doesn’t need proof.
This is totally unconstitutional! For a court to take your guns due process is needed to
convict you as a criminal. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty. End of
story.
This is just another way for the left to get their hands on your guns. We do not have the
second amendment because of the need for hunting deer, we have the second
amendment to protect ourselves from tyrants IN Washington who are trying to take our
rights away and enslave us. First they will take our second amendment rights then when
we become defenseless they will completely do away with the constitution all together.
Guns are a lot of fun, but they are not just toys. They are tools for defending ourselves
from threats, whether that be in our home at the store in the school or in Washington.
History repeats itself and right now it is in the process of doing just that. My parents
always put history in an important spot. Because my sisters were homeschooled we
were taught the history that schools do not teach. Schools teach social studies, but we
were taught the history of America and why America was started in the first place.
So please, fight back against red flags, share the facts why this is important to stop from
spreading any further and read history.
Gun of the month
The 22 TCM
Growing up, you probably owned a 22 rifle and shot it quite a bit, I know that I did! Later
I would get a .22 revolver for packing around shooting varmints and for trapping. I liked
the 22 magnum because it had more power and a longer range. However I did wish for
something that could be reloaded at a much cheaper price. I looked and looked but
found nothing.
One day however after searching the web I came across a new product made by rock
island armory. It was a 1911 that shot a new wildcat called the 22 TCM. Armscor
ammunition had designed a cartridge that was basically a 9mm necked down to a .22
caliber. Rock Island Armory had teamed up with Armscor to chamber and sell this
handgun.
I watched some videos on this new gun and it had some tremendous power. Much
more than the standard 9mm handgun cartridge. The best part was that it was
chambered in one of my favorite handguns, the 1911. They also have a bolt action rifle
chambered in the 22 TCM, but have yet to build a revolver.
The benefits of this new cartridge is that it is more powerful that the recent .22 rimfire.
Being a centerfire it is also more reliable. The best part is that being a centerfire
cartridge and being necked down from a 9mm it is easily reloadable. And yes they do
have reloading dies for it. On top of that if you are a 9mm fan, they have a model that
comes with an interchangeable barrel and slide for shooting a 9mm cartridge as well.
So it is like two guns in one.
I hope that you get the chance to shoot or buy one of these guns because they look like
a lot of fun!
Out of the Box
The Ruger Wrangler: With the nostalgia of single action army style handguns due to
western movies like Gunsmoke, bonanza and John Wayne movies, handguns like the
colt frontier scout became very popular. Ruger later came out with the Blackhawk and
other revolvers similar to the SAA. Later Colt would discontinue their line of revolvers
and Ruger would become the leader of revolver manufacturers.
Today Colt has recently came out with a new line of SAA revolvers. While expensive
the colt brand is very popular. Ruger needing to keep up with the competition came out
with what will become a very popular revolver.
This revolver is being named the Ruger wrangler. It is a smaller framed rimfire revolver
that is a reproduction of the original SAA. Ruger is known for building high quality
firearms at an unbelievably affordable price and that is exactly what you are getting with
the wrangler.
The Ruger Wrangler is chamber in the .22lr and .22 magnum at the price of$249. One
heck of a deal.

Brownells BRN180: Brownells is known for selling gun parts, accessories and
gunsmithing tools, but recently they came out with a semi automatic rifle dubbed the
BRN180. This new rifle looks like the combination of an AR15 and an AK47. The basic
frame is similar to the AR but the charging handle mechanism is built on the side and
does look like the ak47. The rifle is based on the discontinued AR180. The rifle comes
as the upper only, but can be added to any AR15 lower. Chambered in .223 Wylde with
a 1-8" twist, the BRN180 retails for $799 and does not require an FFL to purchase.
Gun Tips
No gun owner wants to see their favorite hunting rifle with dings, scratches rust or wear.
Unfortunately, wear and tear is inevitable to anything that is being used. So to keep your
hunting rifle in peak condition, here are a few tips.
1- keeping your gun obviously cleaned and oiled is a must but it can be very tedious,
keeping a cleaning kit near your gun storage will make things easier and remind you to
get it done.
2- don’t get blood of any kind on your blued steel, because It will take the bluing off your
firearms.
3- When putting your gun in a gun safe for storage of more than a couple days, make
sure that it is absolutely dry and give it a quick oiling to make sure no rust appears. I
have learned this lesson the hard way.
4- When storing guns in a safe do not install a heater or heat lamp. The problem with
this is that it will over dry your stock and cause warping and cracking. The best thing to
do is use a dehumidifier.
5- Storing guns with the barrels down will Drain excess oil away from your stock.

History
Henry Repeating Arms
You probably know about the henry repeating rifle as the first successful lever action rifle to
be produced. After Oliver Winchester acquired volcanic arms and changed the name to
Winchester, he began looking for someone to rebuild and redesign the failed lever action
rifle created by Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson, who would later go on to start smith and
Wesson.
Winchester contacted and hired a young and brilliant inventor named, Benjamin Tyler
henry. Henry took the original lever action that fired volcanic ammunition, which was simply
a lead bullet with a hollow base where a tiny amount of powder was placed and then sealed
with a primer, and redesigned the rifle mechanically and invented a rimfire cartridge that
would be more accurate powerful and easier to use.
The Rifle overall was a fairly large success and became very popular. When the military
was approached for a contract Winchester was denied. The army said that they were too
expensive and had too many moving parts which would allow it to break down easy. So
Winchester went to the soldiers themselves, who found them to be a great asset. While very
expensive soldiers would buy the rifles themselves and ammunition during the civil war.
Later the military would buy a small amount of rifles and ammunition.
The relationship with henry and Winchester ended when henry demanded that the name of
the company be changed to henry since his invention was at least partly responsible for the
success of the company. Oliver refused and henry took his patent and left. He started henry
firearms build his 1860 rifle. Henry firearms build a few firearms until the turn of the century
and then went out of business. The biggest problem with henry firearms was not keeping up
with the times. Later the named would be used on a company that would build Rimfire lever
action rifles.
