O Holy Mother St. Teresa, you died with the LADY OF MT. CARMEL
utmost gratitude for the grace of being a daughter of the
church. Make us her true children, loyal, committed,
dedicated. Keep us faithful to our vocation of holiness in
the church. Keep our eyes on Mary, Mother of the church
and our Mother. Deepen our love and union with the
church each day; and help us work for God’s kingdom on
earth. Amen.
FIRST DAY
OPENING PRAYER
Immaculate Virgin and Queen of Carmel, You are the
hope of the sufferer and the consolation of the afflicted.
Look not upon my sins, but remember only that I am a
poor soul redeemed by the precious Blood of your Son,
and that my heart is sealed with your Holy Scapular.
Hear my prayer and if it be for the glory of God, your
honor, and for the salvation of my soul. Grant what I ask
in this Novena. Amen.

The beauty of Mt. Carmel and the Glory of

Reflections from St. Teresa
There came to my notice the harm being wrought
to the Church. I went before the Lord, entreating Him to
remedy this great evil. I would have laid down a thousand
lives to save a single soul. I determined to do the little I
could, namely, to follow the evangelical counsels as
perfectly as I could, and that those few runs should do
the same. So that, busying ourselves in prayer we should
do everything we could to aid this Lord, so much
oppressed by those who would send Him to the Cross
again.
To prevent this, is your vocation. This must be
your business; this must be your tears. Let us not pray
for worldly things; people should pray that God will
enable them to trample such things beneath their feet.
The world is on fire, men condemning Christ again, they
would razed His church to the ground. Are we to waste
our time asking for worldly things?

The best way to live safely in this dangerous
warfare is to use the love and fear He gives. Love will

mother. You sought Her protection, her care and above
all, her love. As a Carmelite when your path in her Son’s
service was beset with obstacles, you turned to Mary and
trusted her to help you carry out His will. Give us your
child-like faith in Mary, your trusting love for her. Ask
Jesus to make us resemble His mother, that she may
make us resemble Him.

You loved God to the utmost of your strength and out of

generosity in sharing. May our love for the Church on
earth and the Church in purgatory one day be repaid by

security that we shall never again return to our past faults

Loving Father, You grant us the grace of

You offer us the example of her life, the help of her

Christ, the one who was crucified for us, the one who

I shall give you three reasons why we should be
