1. Safety activity
Whenever doing any kind of work, remember that prevention of accidents comes first.
Always follow appropriate local safety regulation and WWJSSS (World Wide Job Site Safety
Standard). Cooperate with others in the building to keep up and improve safety. The
certified safety device and equipment must be always applied to fieldwork.

1.1.Safety sign
We define the following symbols about important items and safety for easy comprehension.

a. Symbols and messages

As the caution and warning
symbol, they were inserted in the
some page to indicate important
item on usage. If anybody does not keep cautious item, elevator shall be break down or
worker may get accident.
b. Image symbols
As the image symbols, they were inserted in the each main phase of installation to inform
workers about general safety activity and alert.

In case the proper regulation for local state is available, follow local regulation.

This instruction is made for the safe method of scaffold application and safe
work.

5.1.Verifying scaffolds & fittings

a. All scaffolds & fittings must be recognized by approved grading standard. If
such standards are not available, a qualified engineering authority must
approve them.
b. Prior to use, all scaffolds must be constructed according to
recommendations of manufacturer.
c. Responsible person for safety must inspect proper application & defect of
scaffolds, any noted problems must be corrected prior to use.
d. All scaffolds & fittings must be able to support at least 4 times the
maximum intended load.

5.2.Construction of scaffold
a. Prior to construction
a) Inspect if scaffolds and fittings are not damaged and rusted before
construction.
b) Any inappropriate items must be removed from a job site.
b. Construction

a) All post scaffolds must be

erected. (90°)

b) Scaffolds must be fixed to

construction of building for
stability

c) Distance between each post

scaffold must be less than
2.5m.

steel plate.

c. Preparing platform or safety footstool

b) Apply working platform or safety footstool close to wall of hoistway as
much as it can.
c) In working level, below protections must be provided:
- 100mm-height toe-board.
- Guardrail at 900mm~1100mm height from working level
