4. Inventory Organization
• It is any facility or place in a
company used to store and transact
items.
• In the case of ethio telecom,
inventory organization represents
the warehouses of the company.
• All Inventory Organizations have a
three digit upper case and/or
alphanumeric identification code.
Example: CW1, CW2, AW1, POW,
ETS, O03, O08. . . And so on.

5. Master Organization
• It is an ideal inventory organization and abbreviated as ETM.
• ET-item master organization is used to define items.

6. Sub-inventory

 Sub-inventories are the places or storage areas used for


items storing.
 There may be different sub-inventories within an inventory
organization.
 Sub-inventories can be defined according to the items
category.
 Fixed Asset Items shall be restricted to the Fixed Asset sub-
inventory.
 Stock Items are picked to Stage _ AST sub-inventory
whereas fixed asset items are picked to Stage _ EXP sub-
inventory.

7. Locators

 Locators are the physical


areas within sub inventory
where items are stored.
 The three segment structure
of the locators are: SHELF,
ROW and COLUMN.

• Example: A01.01.01 is the locator segment structure for the first


shelf with the first row and the first column where A01- the first
shelf 01- the first Row & 01- the first Column.

1. Receiving Transaction
1.1 Receiving Against Purchase Order (PO)

 Receiving against PO demonstrates the process of receiving the


items to the Warehouse from the Supplier with different Receipt
Routings.
 Receipt Routing - The type of receiving controls through
which a receipt passes before getting in to inventory.

Types of Receipt Routings - three types


A. Direct Receipt Routing, deliver an
item directly to its location.
B. Standard Receipt Routing - Receive
an item first, then deliver without
inspection.
C. Inspection required receipt routing -
Receive an item first, inspect it, then
deliver.

 Miscellaneous receiving demonstrates the process of receiving the
item to the Warehouse with out formal source (PO and ISO).

1. 3 Receiving Against Internal Sales Order

Receiving against internal sales order demonstrates


the process of receiving the item to the Warehouse
from other warehouses through internal requisition.

2. Transfer Transactions

 Transfer transaction demonstrates the transfer of materials within


organization between sub inventories, or between two locators
within the same sub inventory.

There are two types of transfer transactions


 Sub inventory Transfer - the transfer of materials from one
sub inventory to another or b/n two locators with in the same
sub inventory with out approval.
 Move Order Transfer - the transfer of materials from one
sub inventory to another or b/n two locators with in the same
sub inventory with approval.

3. Issuing Transactions
3.1 Issuing Against Internal Sales Order Requisition

 It is the process of issuing item against the formal internal requisition.


 It can be:
 Issuing from one warehouse to another against internal order
 Issuing to the requester /end users/ against internal sales order

3.2 Miscellaneous Issuing


 Miscellaneous issuing demonstrates the process of issuing the item
against account with out formal requisition.

Miscellaneous issuing includes:


 Issue for donation
 Issue for disposal (Via selling)
 Issue for disposal (other than selling)
