Former Kansas Resident Brings His Group Deals Company to Wichita,

Lawrence and Manhattan

SoBiz10 Builds Strong Connections Between Consumers and Their Favorite Businesses Through
Discounts, Social Networking and Giving Back.

Lawrence, KS, January 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A KU alum who's created a new social networking/
couponing website that combines elements from popular websites like Groupon and Facebook is
launching his site in Lawrence, Manhattan and Wichita next week.

Marion Mariathasan, who studied architecture at the University of Kansas and computer science and
business at Emporia State University, created the company SoBiz10 (www.SoBiz10.com) as a one-stop
solution for businesses to connect with their consumers and offer deep discounts to local consumers.

“I looked at all these sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Groupon, and I thought 'wouldn't it be
nice if users could get all the great features from these sites in one place,'” Mariathasan said.

After five years of development, SoBiz10 launched in Denver in January 2010. After successfully
connecting 10,000 users and 45,000 businesses in the area, and publishing 50 group deals, Mariathasan
decided to branch out to new cities. Having spent most of his life in Kansas, he decided that these three
cities would be the first cities in which to expand SoBiz10.

“Kansas has always been great to me - in fact, my parents and many friends still live in Kansas and I visit
often,” Mariathasan said. “Now I want to bring something great to these cities, by helping residents get
awesome discounts, and helping businesses reach new and existing customers in a more meaningful and
efficient way.”

SoBiz10 works like this: consumers and businesses create their own profiles on the website (similar to
Facebook). SoBiz10 will publish one local deal per day (from restaurants to salons to services), and users
can choose to purchase the deals that interest them. Users can use the site's networking tools to
communicate with their friends about the deal, to write a review about the business, and to stay in touch
with their favorite businesses.

A new feature that was recently added to the site allows users to donate to a local non-profit during the
purchase of the daily deal. During the deal check-out process, the user can choose a local non-profit from
a drop-down list, and SoBiz10 will donate to that organization when the purchase is made. It's no
additional cost to the user; the donation is straight from SoBiz10 to the non-profit.

“I've always wanted to find a way to give back to the community and I think we thought of a fantastic
way to do it,” Mariathasan said. “Every time a coupon is purchased, a local non-profit benefits. I like to
think that SoBiz10 creates the ultimate win-win. Residents in these cities great deals, local businesses
reach new customers, and we all give back to this terrific community.”
