What the Christian world today needs more than anything else is people who know,

search and love the word of God above everything in the world. If that happened many
would dwell together in unity, not being tossed about by every false doctrinal wind of
deceitful men, but speaking the truth in love.
Acts 17:10-12 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto
Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble
than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and
searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Therefore many of them
believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
We find that the Bereans were the inhabitants of the city of Berea or Beroea, which is
now known as Veria in what is today northern Greece. These men and women had
received the word of God with an open and willing heart, even to the point of searching
the scriptures to verify what was said by the apostle to them was in line with the word.
Jesus Himself said that mankind was not to live by bread alone or for the flesh alone, but
by every word of God instead. Job said that the ears tried words just as food is tasted by
the mouth. We are forewarned by God never to add traditions or words unto His, and not
to detract nor take away from their meaning.
The word of God is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. The entrance or
opening of God's word gives a person light. And no wonder as Jesus Christ (the word of
God manifested in the flesh) was the light of the world, as long as He was in it. If we do
not believe in the light then we will not remain in light, or be the children of it.
Ever since the days of Ezekiel there have men who have been covetous, being hearers but
not doers of the word. Unwilling to abide in the truth and instead gathering unto
themselves teachers who spoke smooth deceits, which deny the power of God (found
only through the name of Jesus in all things) while yet still giving them a religion. These
are ordained for condemnation, and whose end is to be burned. But for the beloved
followers of God there will be better things that will accompany your salvation. May God
bless and keep you, now and evermore.
